Avoid this business at all costs, rude and unprofessional, Manager/Owner lacks knowledge of best food practices.
Food was decent, unfortunately the service wasn't.
we ordered online and arrived to pickup 2 minutes before pickup time, the server looked for my ticket asked the girl preparing about the order and she replied it will be started soon. Meanwhile a few people had entered the store, I watched as they got their sandwiches made before my order was even started. A door dash order was made and put on the counter, I thought it was mine so I went to grab it, but noticed it wasn't mine and the pickup time was a good 10 minutes after my scheduled pickup time. I began to wonder what could be happening with my order, I watched another couple order and get their sandwiches, then my receipt was picked up to be made. At that time I had been waiting for 12 minutes, 10 minutes past the "Pickup" time
When I finally got back home, I called to address issue and the Manager/Owner replied in a snotty tone "oh your complaining because you had to wait, that is too bad", I tried to explain the concern, and the fact the Doordash order was prioritized over an internal order, she explained she was the one who had made the Doordash order, didn't feel like she needed to apologize since I had arrived 2 minutes early, she then got more rude and then promptly hung up the phone.
indicative by the lack of FIFO (First in First Out) knowledge, Owner has shown ignorance about best food practices. Although in this case it was an order, I would suspect inability to follow FIFO in ordering means an inability to follow FIFO in Internal storage processes as well, which would put serving spoiled product as a possibility , again another...
Read moreUnimpressed. The portion for the turkey bacon avo was like a 4" sub for 7.50 which is too much. They said they charge 0.50 extra for tomatoes, really? Tomatoes?! I asked for jalapeños and to make it spicy, I got 1 jalapeño slice and 1 pepperoncini on the entire sub. One half didn't even have a jalapeño or perpperoncini. The bread was soft but lacked the grit and bite that made me feel like it was premium. Just tasted like cheap hoagie bread. The person who took my order was not very friendly either. And I'm not one of those people that walks in with an attitude. Just put off by the upcharge for ingredients that should come standard for any sub shop, the small portion, and the fact that they they didn't add the extras...
Read moreGood but not great. If a Subway were next door, I doubt I would ever go here again, because you are essentially paying more money for less food. Subway makes the sandwich in front of you and gives you the option for numerous additions where Big Town Hero only has about 4 things they put on sandwiches and don't ask for your input.
That being said, I like supporting a local business instead of a big chain, and their sandwiches are still very tasty. They also have a card system where you get a free sub after you buy 10, a system Subway did away with so BTH gets bonus points in that regard. Still, the value isn't that great when compared to Subway as you are paying 40% more for 75% of the food, and the...
