We just left this restaurant a few hours ago and were appalled by our overall experience. The cost of the buffet was $19.44 per person and certainly wasn't worth it. Some of the foods( veggies, meats and deserts) that should have been served hot were cold. The excessive usage of salt on the food in addition to the coldness, made it taste horrible. The lady that prepared our plates wasn't pleasant. She even uttered that "I shouldn't get to much food on my plate to keep from wasting it," because I asked for extra green beans. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We spent about $80 on our meals altogether. I could have bought 4 Big Zax Snacks and filled upon my car for that amount. In addition to these things, there were other visitors (flies) moving around the food. I think we should have taken heed to our instincts, which was to go some place else. The only positive thing about our experience, was the young lady who served us; she was friendly...
Read moreService was excellent, the food however was not impressive. We went on Saturday at lunch and were the first ones in. My parents enjoyed the fried chicken, my sis the collard greens, and whoever had the peach cobbler enjoyed it. Mac & cheese had a whangy taste, maybe cream cheese or sour cream added?- not for me. Rice & gravy were bland as well as black eyed peas. Butter beans were tasty, but the ones on top of serving dish were dry, making me wonder how long they'd sat out - maybe as long as the corn on the cob bc the kernels of corn were so dry they didn't even touch each other on any side. I don't believe in waste, but I sure wouldn't serve dried-up food to someone. The fried shrimp was ok, but I was not interested in the fried fish, which was a fileted out fish skeleton that had been battered and fried. Nice people from the moment we walked in, but no, thanks on the food. I'd rather spend my $17...
Read morePeople are kind of rude and it isn't a buffet it's more of a cafeteria. They have hardware cloth over the food and you walk down the line while some rude old lady barks questions at you about what you want. The lady at the register was nice though and the cake was good. It felt a lot more like prison than the "dinner at grandma's house" vibe they're going for. Edit: Just went went back for a second try. Even stronger prison vibes this go round. The man behind the counter barked "how can I help ya ma'am" loud and aggressively at my wife about 40 times rather than a simple "okay and what's next" or something else. The lady at the register said a server had to make our drinks so we asked the server and he said the lady at the register would get it. Get to the register and a female yells in a randy savage voice "FRANCIS I NEED A PEPSI TO GO OOOHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAHH!" Turns out Francis is the only nice one...
