Was looking for a bite to eat while passing through Albany and saw that this brewery had great reviews. We figured we’d give it a try. As soon as we walked in the vibes were off. It was very stuffy and smelled bad— almost like stale alcohol. No one greeted us so we awkwardly stood at the entrance until my partner saw a small sign stating that you need to order up at the bar if it’s after 3pm. We made our way up to the bar and ordered. The worker who took our order was fine. Not particularly friendly but not rude. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken, an order of the pretzels and beer cheese, and a burger with fries. The total came to just over $43.00 and, of course, they asked for gratuity. Our food came out after about 15-20 minutes, which is reasonable , but the salad was tiny!! The chicken, which was $4.00 extra, was almost nonexistent. The food was edible but nothing special and really not that great. We also had to bus our own table…. After we left my partner and I did not feel well and agreed that the food left us feeling sluggish and heavy (and again, I got a salad…). We both agreed that that is one place we would never go back to and, quite frankly, we regretted not walking out the second we walked in. We would...
Read moreWe attended a gathering here after a friend's funeral. Being from out of town, we had not been here before. The patio was reserved for our party which included several older folks. They did have three large patio heaters out there, but they were not turned on. It was quite chilly. When we asked the waitress if we could get them turned on, she roller her eyes and was quite rude when she said "When I have time." She continued with this attitude the entire time we were there. Apparently she was upset at being the only waitress on duty and decided to take it out on her customers. We were all quite shocked at her rudeness. After we had been there about an hour, and after several requests, they came out to turn on the heaters to find that only had any propane!! She would not take our food order unless we paid up front, which we refused, so she said she needed a credit card -- to order lunch?? We said never mind and went to eat elsewhere. Although the beer we tried was good, I would NEVER go here again and several other folks in our party said the same thing. And I would strongly suggest this lady get a job where she does not have to deal with the public. Really...
Read moreWe recently moved to the area and have visited Calapooia Brewery three times now. We had first tried their beer at a Corvallis Knights game and enjoyed it enough to visit in person. Each time, the service has been friendly, the variety of beverages great, and the food delicious. The outdoor atrium area has a great vibe and is family and dog-friendly. Now when we need to run errands in Albany (because Corvallis has no Target, Lowe’s, Walgreens, Staples, etc.), we plan a trip here. There’s much more we want to try on their menu, but we can attest to their onion rings being awesome, the pulled pork cheese dip genius in its combination of deliciousness, and a very fresh house salad with plentiful dressing on the side. Prices are reasonable for quality and we look forward to...
