King Kone — Restaurant in Albany

a gravel parking lot full of potholes, inside the same tile floors, bench seats, and tables that were there 40yrs ago. it used to be owned by the family across the street and they gave many a youngster in the neighborhood one of their first employment opportunities. It was purchased by a married couple around 15-20yrs ago and they have rune the entire place by themselves ever since. I don't imagine they have any energy left to think about or discuss any updates, let alone implement them. Once you look around and realize that it is clean you can revel in the fact that you just found a great little hole in the wall ice cream parlor with the best burgers I've ever had. they have a variety of burgers served on an 8" bun, including the Sir burger which has 2 Patty's, olives, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and their burger sauce which I do believe is mayo, mustard and a few spices. That's my Favorite, they also have the King Kong which has Bacon and eggs, and a great Mushroom and swiss. I’ll tell you how it’s been for us every visit…They have awesome burgers, huge servings of delicious ice cream, and great prices for the amount of food. Now let me say that they’re lucky their food is so yummy because they lack any customer service skills. The first time I called to order something I didn’t know if I had called the right place because they answered the phone “yeah?” They don’t tell you how much your order has come to or when it would be ready for pick up. They never seem happy about handing out ranch. It’s great ranch so I can see why it’s hard to give up but I mean when you order a bunch of chicken strips and fries for your kids and get only one ranch… let’s just say if you know you know. Don’t order the BLT because you could make a better one at home. And double check your food before you drive off. We order things with out onions and it’s almost like they double up on them instead. Again great food but my husband won’t deal with them because their lack of being personable and their short attitude turns him off to their establishment. Food gets 4 stars, customer service...

Was very disappointed. Not even close to being as good as they once where. We had gone and ordered three shakes. We had originally wanted hasty freeze. However we didn't want to have the time it usually takes there. Also it's a bit more expensive. However wish we would of went and waited rather than gone to king kone. The milkshakes were flavorless. And she also messed up the order and thought we had ordered a cone instead of one of the shakes. Witch we didn't want in the first place she asked my boyfriend if he would eat it he said yes not wanting to waste it but didn't think she would charge us for it. Witch she did. So in the long run we ended up paying what we would have at hasty freeze for poor service and horrible milkshakes I ended up throwing mine out it was bland and really runny. Won't be...
