Well, this was easily the most disappointing service I have ever had at this restaurant. 1st server, greeted us with the personality of a sad beaten cat, and paid zero attention the fact there were 3 people at the table. Which translates to, she didn't even acknowledge or ask the 3rd person if she would like anything to drink, other than water. Our distaste in her demeanor and service must have been quite obvious, and thankfully a more competent server approached us. We ordered, food arrived, at this point by someone completely new. I get it, "group serving" /"group-tip share" is a thing in restaurants. However, we had to now ask a 3rd server to take care of what we had asked the 2nd server we had had for. All fine with the food..... up until it was 1, ONE single minute, after 9:30, and we had to listen to the song of their vacuum pushing throughout the restaurant. Excuse me, but after years of being in the service industry, but most IMPORTANTLY enjoying years of going out to eat, I am shocked at the absolute disregard of guests finishing their meal. We arrived at 8:23. We were well into finishing our meals by 9:30. Had we not been ignored, other than a passive aggressive drop of the check, with ZERO verbal appreciation of our business or "Take your time", we would've asked for a box at 9:27. Yes, the service was so poor we monitored our time. Yet, the finishing move, which is why I am actually leaving a review, was when the girl showed up to alert us, they are closed, locking the doors, and she is about to vacuum under our table. AT 9:37.WTH. I understand that with COVID there are dining restrictions on/in some counties, as to time that people are allowed in, or allowed continued to finish their meals. Every single place that we have dined has communicated that with us ahead of the allowed time cut off. If hiring a bunch of teen/20 somethings, with their ratty clothing that looks like they are homeless instead of professionals, means that they are unable to use their voices or interpersonal skills, then perhaps the hiring manager/ shift manager/owner should post better signage, or pick up the short coming of the staff. At the end of this, I am going to mention, that the reason we chose to go out to eat at House of Noodle, was because it has been comfort food in the past. My friendf lost a family member today, after a short turn of bad health, that ultimately resulted in a loss of life. Regardless of what the circumstance was that we chose to be comforted by a meal, or why we chose this establishment in the first place, the service was appalling. The hostess was nice, the girl who took our order, #2 was nice and proficient, the girl, #3 who delivered our meal was pleasant. At the end of the day, overall, the servers needs tremendous Attention. The policy of the restaurant and how they treat their guests, needs a thorough rework. A tiny bit of communication goes a long way with guests. I have never felt so offended to the point of verbilizing on the internet, yet here we are. I have always enjoyed this restaurant until tonight. I hope they get it together service wise, or hire...
Read moreI went here after a memorial service for an old friend of mine. Felt like something noodles after visiting my Parents and Grandparents Grave sites on this Memorial Day weekend. It is an old converted Pizza Hut sit down Restaurant it was busy with customers and smelled delicious when I opened the door. The interior is clean and orderly and the staff were busily cleaning and attending to their guests. I was immediately seated and asked about drinks. The menus are very larger physically and option wise. I love a lot of different Thai dishes but choose the Pad Thai meal with Chicken and shrimp and extra peanut sauce. The other customers appeared to be enjoying themselves. My food was delivered promptly and was steaming hot. The sauce, was delicious. The noodles and chicken were fresh and hot. The peanuts were fresh and crunchy. I did have a problem with the shrimp… they were hard, chewy, rubbery, overcooked, fresh shrimp do not turn out this way. Everything else about my meal was delicious. My waitress came up for a customary ask about how I liked the food so I informed her about the shrimp. Anyway they bent over backwards to make it right and instead of just cooking me a few fresh shrimp they cooked me an entire meal placed in separate to go containers in a bag to go home with me. I had separated out the shrimp and just eaten the remaining portion and put some of it in a too go container. So now I have more delicious Pad Thai than I know what to do with. I will try to freeze some of it I guess. But I wouldn’t hesitate to return here. Just ask about the freshness of the shrimp 😃 or if it’s...
Read moreA must try! House of Noodles in Albany Oregon Located parcariously within the triangle junction of three streets there is a small parking lot, always full, always a spot; exit and enter a little tricky, but, doable. The Cafe-like building is small and quite cozy appearing with a good entrance. Inside, It is immediately comfortable with a small, stand only wine bar, an ~30 gallon fish tank visable where you are warmly greeted by the hostest/waitress. It is busy, full, yet quiet, with appropriate background music and good acoustics (at this time, Christmas music was playing, which I most appreciated.) The service is patient, prompt and attentive, thank you kindly. And the food! The menu has a full, varied selection of tasty sounding foods and drink, taking me some time to decide. When I finally ordered, one to eat and one to go, I was treated to goodness on a plate. My meal of shrimp, glass noodles and vegetables was plentiful and heavenly prepared; julienne carrot, celery and onions with large, tasty shrooms, fat glorious shrimp a plenty and the most delightful kicker, wonderfully fresh, dark green seaweed all in a nice lite, clear, not too salty, tasty sauce. Scattered atop it all many crisp sprigs of sweet flat leaved parsley. Can't beat that. I was a happy chopper. Thank you 'House...
