Mother's Day - my fav foreign food is Mexican - we were halfway to Albany when the wife decided for MD she wanted Mexican. We googled and found La Roca. The good: Décor is very nice - that's all The bad: The first brought about half a small bowl of chips and probably 1/4" of beans for dip, with a small Salsa bowl. The older guy, I'm guessing the owner, we tried to order shrimp fajitas he didn't understand so I tried Spanish - he raised his hand and told me he was listening to her. Not at all friendly. Son tried to order tacos, Pastor - "we don't have pastor" - he wanted only 2 tacos - nope have to buy the 12.95 plate with rice and beans. So he got carnitas - which I told him was good. It wasn't - it was like boiled beef or pork with zero zip flavoring, nothing else on taco shells. He didn't eat half of one of them. Wife's shrimp fajitas were underwhelming (she actually said she ate some at Rockita in Corvallis last week which were "10 times better".

My nachos were more than underwhelming. I asked for more salsa and he rudely pointed me to the Tapatio bottle - I said no I want Salsa, two of those. He brought me a slightly larger bowl (still not enough) - and when I paid - I FOUND HE CHARGED ME FOR IT.

I don't write many lousy reviews - but this one deserved it - wish I had read the negative reviews before I went there and spent $45 - there was a Taco Truck at Costco, and I'd bet money it was superior - but I felt like I wished I could barf out the nachos I tried to eat so I would have room for good food - but alas, not really into sticking my finger down my throat.

Rude service, lousy food, gee can't wait to go back and enjoy that fine...

Let me start off by saying I have never left a Google review before...I work in the restaurant industry so I understand there are good and bad days, but my experience at this restaurant today was despicable. I am a single mom so I don't get to eat out often, but decided to take my mom and myself to lunch to celebrate an important event. I have been here before, the food is pretty good but I wanted to try something different so I ordered the app sampler as my meal. When it came out I tried it and the chicken was so dry I couldn't even swallow it. I asked the manager if I could switch it to something else and he treated me with so much disrespect even making comments how I should have known since it was on the menu. I get that it was on the menu, but I wasn't expecting chicken so dry that was inedible. I'm a server at two restaurants and was disgusted how he treated me, because of this I asked the server for the gms info, and come to find out the man who was incredibly rude is the owner. I spent every extra cent I had to celebrate this event and it was ruined just because I wanted to switch my plate...I get that it is frustrating but nobody deserves to be treated that way. So thank you for ruining a special day...ur food is good, but treating people like that...

My wife and I stopped in on our first visit to order some takeout. It was late afternoon and the place was not crowded at all. It looked like a small family run business and I'm guessing the woman who greeted us was a family member. When I told her we were going to order some food to go it didn't appear she was going to seat us; just let us stand in the entry area to order and wait. So I said to her that maybe we could sit and have something to drink and have some chips and salsa while we waited. She did seat us and did take our order but was never the least bit friendly. As it turned out the salsa was the only thing with any flavor, except the bottled beer of course. Overall the food was very bland and that might explain why we didn't see any Hispanic customers in there either. They shorted us one entree and substituted something we didn't order on another entree. We ordered the taquitos appetizer as part of our order. When we got home we discovered they gave us flautus instead. Overall the food and service were both tasteless. Needless to say we won't be going back. Giving them two stars is probably too generous. But the chairs and booth backs were very ornate and the glasses to pour our beers into were chilled. So I gave them an extra...

I was hungry, but not sure about the kind of food or location I wanted, and then I found myself driving near here, and realized it had been a few months since my last visit. The enchilada and tamale combination lunch plate jumped off of the menu at me, and within a few heartbeats, it was placed on my table. I was already about halfway through the bowl of perfect tortilla chips and terrific salsa, so I just continued plowing through all of that wonderful food, enjoying myself on the outside deck. To top things off, the healthy serving of absolutely amazing iced tea set me up for the afternoon. Even though this place is off of the beaten path, it is well worth a visit, as one of the top Mexican food restaurants in the area. 🤙🏼

Great food, drinks and service! I really enjoyed the (upgraded) casamigos tequila in my margarita. The steak fajitas were delicious, the meat was a little salty but that is most resturant food anymore. The salsa has the perfect amount of heat and tastes very fresh, I will be craving it often. I forgot to get a picture but the patio seating is so nice, perfect amount of shade and the seating is very comfortable. Update a week later: we went again and I had to adjust my review. The drinks are very pricey but yummy. The salsa is still fantastic and I highly recommend. My entrées this time was the LA Roca platter and it wasn't great. Shrimp was over cooked, Chile was soggy and the skirt steak was good but pretty small portion.

Meh… we’ve been here several times. The food is good. Not great. Not bad. Just solid Mexican food. The waitstaff are usually good. Friendly and reasonably attentive. The menu is diverse but not as expansive as some other Mexican restaurants in town. The menu prices are maybe a little above average. There’s a handwritten sign as you walk in talking about prices and inflation. Seems pretty tacky. I mean, I get it… we’re all feeling it, but why post it? Also, they charge extra for taking a card. Again, I get it, but I really don’t like seeing it as an add on to the bill at the end. Put it in the menu price! I’ll go elsewhere next time.
