I took my wife to Sweetwaters for breakfast as we have been coming here for over 20 years. We recieved a waitress named Sadie. She asked me if I wanted coffee and gave it to me. She never addressed my wife and asked her what she wanted. When Sadie came back, my wife said to Sadie, you didn't ask me what I wanted to drink. Sadie instantly stood straight up, frowned, and with an attitude said "you didn't tell me you wanted anything". The attitude was crazy as my wife wanted service, yet Sadie took offense at being asked to perform such service. Sadie left and came back, I wasn't happy as she was aggressive and rude to my Queen (wife). I told Sadie that I wasn't happy with how she spoke to my wife, dismissed her, and had an attitude. I told her because of this behavior I wanted a different waitress. She said "I thought you were was joking". I said that is odd because I find nothing funny about someone being rude to my wife. I asked a second time for a different waitress. She still didn't agree to give me a different waitress. I finally said either get me a different waitress or we are leaving. She finally said I will get you a different waitress. The next waitress Maggie was a phenomenal waitress!!! When I went up front to pay, the host asked me how our experience was, I said the second waitress and food was phenomenal. The first waitress was very rude. The host said, "oh I heard about that, there must have been a miscommunication. I'm happy your wife got something to drink". As expected, Sadie wasn't adult or professional enough to tell the truth. I told the host that that it absolutely wasn't a miscommunication, that the waitress was rude to my wife. The host acted like whatever. I asked for change for a $10 so I could leave a good tip. The host walked away! I had to wait for her to come back, she asked what do you need? I showed her the $10, oh I guess another miscommunication. Sweetwater, you have some VERY serious training opportunities in customer service training. This by far was the worst experience i have ever had here. It's unfortunate because you have great food and many great people. Respectfully, take this opportunity and educate these two in customer service, and STOP assuming customers are...
Read moreToday my fiancé and I went to Sweetwaters in Albany as we do each week and had a horrible experience! I ordered the steak and shrimp for $14.95. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came back very very rare! I could hardly cut through it. Took the waitress 15 minutes to check back with us and I told her it was too rare to eat and so she said "Oh yes, that is very rare" and she took it back to the kitchen. 20 minutes later I got a new steak cooked correctly but after eating the potato, 2 pieces of shrimp and salad I was full, I asked her to put it in a to go container to take home. She did. She didn't once say she was sorry or apologize, she acted annoyed! She was not rude, but was not concerned about it either. I went to the register after the lunch and when I was asked how the meal was, I told her the truth. She said, "Oh the manager and owner are here, do you want to talk to them?" I said yes. I NEVER complain about everything, but this was over board! So I did want to talk to someone! The manager, who was very sweet, came to me and ask what happened and I told her, she said "Oh, let me speak with the owner?." So she spoke with them and then came back out and said "The manager said since you had the salad and potato and shrimp, we can only give you a $2 discount". I was so angry and shocked! How rude! She charged us, I gave her the card and left a zero tip, which at 46 years old, I have never ever done and I pointed it out! I told her, that the waitress should have at least apologized! She charged my card and I handed her the steak from the container back and told her I would never be back! What a horrible experience! After they knew we were regular customers an received a bad product and bad service, they offered us $2? Was the steak only $2? NO! I won't ever go back there! Oh, I failed to mention my I got one drink and it was empty before the meal even came, she never asked about a refill! Not once! I paid $13.95 for a one time through salad bar, a baked potato and 2...
Read moreThought I'd take my girlfriend to this local spot I had heard of many times, but sadly expectations were not upheld. I ordered the sirloin and shrimp believing it would be a normal surf n turf with shrimp that is decent and not the same frozen, breaded, pre-deepfried boxed stuff they would make at a foster home. The shrimp were not buttered shrimp you'd have on a steak, but instead an onion ring had found it's way onto my sirloin. (the menu was unaware the onion ring would do such a thing... Neither was I...) When my âmedium rareâ steak arrived, it was mooing...i mean outside barely browned and the inside uncooked! I love a bloody steak, but this would've got me sick. I hate to be the guy to send it back, but I had to. The waitress was great about it, but when I got the same exact steak back a second time, it was practically meatloaf. It was well done and about as good as a burger patty you'd get at a JV high school football concession stand. When leaving, the cashier asked about our experience. After explaining just the one (of many) issue of my steak, (ignoring the flavorless prime rib) she just says âOh you're the one who sent their steak backâ... That prompted the $2 tip they got. At least itâs low grade enough to make you wander to the front door with a chicken-scratched check to watch them calculate the total in front of you, before running your card and having the audacity to ask for a tip for this overpriced, frozen hazard. Albany, Oregon isn't known for fine dining, but even here, there are many better options. Even the dinner roll and butter was ice cold, just like...
