Metro Subs, Soup & Salad — Restaurant in Albuquerque

A gem in the desert! We drove up to the restaurant not knowing what to expect as we had driven past it a thousand times before and never noticed it. It's a small place, cozy, but clean. The staff seemed happy and more than willing to be working. I ordered the Philly cheese steak and my wife ordered the Italian sub. The first thing that surprised me was the excellent flavor of the sandwich and quality of the bread. Veggies grilled perfectly and not burnt, excellent cheese melted just right. I'll admit right off I'm a "sandwich snob". I will carefully sprinkle pepper on mayo, slice bell pepper so thin you can almost see through it, cut the crusts off if needed, trim the meats and cut cheese slices to fit the bread sort of snob. Stopped in today for a 10" turkey and cheese sub, a cup of green chili chicken soup and a photo/chicken salad sub but instead got a cup of potato chicken salad. Misunderstanding....no big deal.

But now.....I'm so glad this happened.OMG 😱🤤🤤🤤 I came home and spread this goodness on some bread...I HAVE NEVER HAD POTATO SALAD THIS GOOD ....EVER! There's enough to make 2 or 3 chicken/potato salad sandwiches.

My son is a plane Jane and got just turkey and provolone no toppings or dressings just plain and that too was absolutely incredible.

Y'all not only made our day but I plan on trying everything on your menu during my stay in ABQ. I am going to tell everyone I know about...

I agree this is The Best Sandwich shop in town. The ingredients are very fresh, and the sides which consist of soup or salad, are fantastic. The menu is small but in my opinion, allows them to make the sandwiches better and fresher. All I can say is they are delicious. The Greek salad, has romaine, cucumber, tomato, olives, bell pepper, feta and a tasty dressing. All crisp and delicious. The potato soup was delicious. If I had a complaint, it would be the place is so small I actually didn't find it the first time I looked for it. Staff was eager, offering a host of options and the price is very reasonable.
