Best (and only?) Hawaiian food we've had in NM since the last time we were in Kauai.

Wife got the Kalua Pork plate, and she was very pleased with it. Pork was very tender, and she loved the macaroni salad.

I got the Chicken Katsu sandwich and green chili cheese fries. As the cashier was taking payment, she let us know they were out of coleslaw, so they'd make it without that.

Turns out the sandwich was just chicken and coleslaw, so that was a big missing piece. The chicken in the sandwich was very well done. However, it was served on a dry bun, then doused in sauce until the bottom of the bun was too saturated to pickup, and impossible to pickup without covering your hands in sticky sauce. I ended up eating it with a fork.

The cheese on the fries and green chili were great. The chili had a nice low heat. The fries were not cooked enough, so they were soggy. Top that with nacho cheese and green chili, and the whole thing turned into a potato slurry. Flavors were good, texture was terrible. Fries need to be thicker and cooked until actually crispy. Again, needed to eat with a fork.

All in all, seems like they were having a rough day. Reviews are pretty good in general, so I'd try it again, but wouldn't get the sandwich or fries a...

I have ordered from them several times, hoping they improve. The food is a hit or miss. Sometimes seasoned well and delish, other times no seasoning and very bland. The Portuguese sausage comes in tiny amounts, while the burger patty is great size. Plenty of rice with the dish. After experiencing spilled gravy, as their containers are not sealed, I requested to have the gravy on the side in a sealed container. I was initially told they do not have containers that seal...It took a few orders before they complied. They are usually out of coffee, so make your own at home with the take out. The spam musubi is good. Avoid the mac salad unless you like it watery, sweet, and tiny carrots chopped in it..They need to be constant with their seasoning, and use better sealed containers for take out. Boring, small portion sausage, and bland for the price tag. Plus never know if the gravy arrives sealed as requested or not, so after trying more than once to see if they improve, won't return. UPDATE- Since when is a restaurant out of eggs for breakfast??? Go to the grocery store and buy some!! You all knew you were out or low in supply before you opened. And should have rejected the...

I placed an order on Doordash: They decided to cancel my order because someone else at the same address decided to order from them also. The orders were under 2 different names and completely different items on the orders. The wonderful driver said they told him they received a call for some changes on the order (neither of us called for any changes) and gave him a single bag of items for 2 orders. The driver was amazing and was willing to drive back to pick up my order and waited for us to contact him. We contacted Kimo's to see if they would fix the issue, they refused. The female we talked to said she took it upon herself to cancel it because it showed the same address, but she didn't actually cancel the order until AFTER we called. We informed them that the driver was willing to come pick it up, and she refused. They weren't willing to correct THEIR screw up. Horrible customer service! The other person who actually got their food didn't even receive what he ordered. I'm beyond...

Came here spur of the moment after driving by it many times. It's a small restaurant with a very casual feel and small dining room. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I ordered the Kalua Pork sandwich which is a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with Cole Slaw on top. it was ok, but nothing that special. I feel like I've made this exact sandwich at home. I wish I'd ordered one of the teriyaki marinated meats in hindsight, after looking at the menu longer. The food came out very quickly, in maybe 3 minutes. The lady taking my order seemed nice. there were a few other people who looked like regulars, they might know the more exciting things to get. Kimo is very near some other things I visit often, so I'm going to come back another time and try a meat/rice dish and perhaps amend my review. For now, it's decent, but maybe not worth going out of your way for.

What can I say other than everything was PERFECT! I’m from San Diego where Hawaiian food/L&L is a staple, and I actually think this is way better than L&L. I got the teriyaki chicken plate and my son got the katsu chicken plate and we both loved it. He said it was bussin! 😁 The Hawaiian drinks and spam musubi were amazing too. Don’t be intimidated by the industrial area or parking situation, the restaurant is really warm and inviting and comfortable inside and the staff is so sweet and friendly. Prices were reasonable too! ($13 lunch plates with good portions, $5 spam musubi, $3 drinks) This is a real diamond in Albuquerque. I only wish they were open longer! But that just makes it that much more of a treat to eat at. (Also the teriyaki sauce spilled a little bit in the bag as I was driving home, they didn’t give it to me that way!)
