I was staying a few blocks away from this pizzeria and thought I'd finally try it. I don't currently have a place to cook, so for me to go food is a necessity. Decided to walk the few (deserted) blocks with the dogs, wallet and phone in hand, mask in pocket to pick up my call in order.
Got there and stepped immediately to a patio tree next to a small table, 30+ feet away from the nearest guests, who were all unmasked and done eating, just talking huddled close in a group of 6, maybe more. Sat my phone and wallet down and reached for the leash to clip it to the tree, and within those few seconds a young employee ran out to scold me with "you've got to wear a mask inside". I replied "yes that's what I'm doing as we speak, also I'm outside". "You have to wear a mask inside" he needlessly repeated. He did this at least 3x until I was finally fed up explaining the obvious over and over. The amount of time I spent explaining like I was a naughty child in trouble greatly exceeded the time for me to just whip out my mask and put it on like I do before I go inside anywhere.
No one walks 3 blocks with zero humans for miles around in a mask. I had dogs, so I clearly walked instead of driving. You can't put on a mask with full hands, so I had to take a second to empty my hands to put it on. Literally any of those things could have been a visual cue. But assessing the situation isn't as fun as scolding your customers apparently.
Went inside to pay for my pizza and told them why I, a service employee at every gritty job imaginable in my life, was for the first time ever leaving no tip. Since the crowd of unmasked diners (all inside also finished eating and just sitting there unmasked chatting) were only seeing this part of the story inside, I probably ended up on some "angry mask protestor" post. The irony being I was the only customer who DID have a mask on. As I was walking out the guy who'd nagged me (I have a feeling he'd never have talked to a man the same way) gave me one of those have a nice day parting shots dripping with sarcasm, then in the same area he'd nagged me in there was another young male employee standing around with his mask down on his chin. Then when I turned around the building to go down the sidewalk a third completely unmasked guy (employee? patron?) ran out to the same breezeway to scream the B word at the top of his lungs.
All because I was putting on my mask and the only customer there doing the actually responsible thing of taking my food to go. I've been respecting covid since January and social distancing in a pretty extreme way since March, so way to make an example out of someone actually being responsible in front of over 20 diners just sitting in a restaurant for fun, not necessity. I don't gather in groups like literally everyone else in your establishment. I was by myself.
Needless to say that will be my first and last visit. I'm not that hard to impress, so this guy really went...
Read moreWe came to this place on a recommendation. I love to give reviews it helps great places get known. Also, I love trying new places and have never had an experience like this. We ordered our sodas and 3 out of the 5 sodas came out when the fourth soda came out it was all but carbonation. The 5th a lemonade came out 20 minutes after we ordered. I advised the waitress and she said we are out of Dr.Pepper ao we ordered a Pepsi. The place was loud and there was alot of young kids drunk and yelling near the table closest to the kitchen. Seems as if the owners son was friends with them. 30 minutes later 1 order came out and my son decided to wait for our food.10 minutes later another order came out with 1 out of two appetizers. Waited another 15 minutes and the rest of the food came out. As we're eating my calzone dough was raw and not fully cooked. I just pushed aside not happy with the food and the service. As my son began eating his wing the 3rd wing in he noticed that his wing was raw with chciken blood still in the meat of the wing. He told the waitress and the waitress took the wings back to the kitchen. She came back and said the owner said they were not raw and the were fully cooked twice. I was done with the service and food. I asked one of the people I was with two pay and I walked out. The owners son and his drunks friends surrounded me and my kids and elderly mom in the parking lot. The owners son was in my elderly moms face telling her off. One of the guys pushed me and told me I had to pay in which my friend was in the restaurant paying. When they were told that are bill was payed they still surrounded us and I was pushed by one of the owners sons drunk friends. I knew was the owners son cuz he told me who he was. We paid $114 for food that was disgusting raw with drunks in their establishment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ANYONE. I CALLED THE POLICE ON THE WAY HOME CUZ WE FELT THREATENED BY THE DRUNKS THAT WERE THERE. THE STATE POLICE SHOULD REALLY CHECK ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT. ALCOHOL IS OBVIOUSLY OVER SERVED HERE. I'd I could give no stars to this place I would. I will make a report to the state of New Mexico Dept of Health and to the State Police to check how much alcohol is actually being...
Read moreOrdered a few apps . We love some apps. They were ok, nothing crazy noticed the mozzarella sticks weren't gooey, but that wasn't a deal breaker. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, teriyaki chicken, and orange chicken. Since the kids 6 and 4 didn't want pizza and I won't eat a pizza alone. Got our plates and the presentation was nice but once I took that first bite of teriyaki chicken something was off, I was sure it was just me and asked for saracha sauce figured I just needed some spice but nope. Then my husband got his sandwich, and the kids got their plate. They went for the rice per usual 😒. I stole a piece of their orange chicken and had to spit it out. My kids ate the rice, and I ate the rolls since I was trying not to say anything. Finally, I ask for the check and let the bartender/server that the meats on our food, including our sandwich, are unedible. The only way I can describe it is either going bad or freezer burn. The guy tells another guy who had been sitting at the bar the whole time (I guess), and I can hear him say someone ordered earlier, and it was fine. He comes back with my card and receipt and tells me he took off 20%. I let him know i wasn't looking for a discount, just letting him know that was plain not edible. But what really pissed me off what the way they wrote it off. Hope nobody gets sick off this place. I won't be back. Also, the 4 dollars off is a joke. I might as well...
