Laguna Burger — Restaurant in Albuquerque

I decided to treat myself to the legendary El Presidente steak at Lagunas, ordering it to go. Little did I know, my steak was apparently running for office—because it took forever to arrive! I’m convinced the kitchen staff was sculpting it into a work of art, not just making my dinner. Maybe they were waiting for the steak to sign a few autographs before sending it out.

When I finally got my food, the green sauce was so good it almost made me forgive the wait. Almost. But then came the utensils—if you can call them that. No knife in sight, just a flimsy fork that snapped faster than my patience. I had to wrestle my steak like it was a wild animal.

The homestyle fries? Let’s just say they were more “spa day” than “crispy”—soggy and relaxed. On the bright side, the staff was super nice! But next time, I might just hit up the food truck at the brewery and save my steak the trouble of running...

The food is good, but I have been overcharged twice here. First time I ordered a hot dog and a kids burger and they brought out an extra burger. When I asked to be refunded for the extra burger they said to just eat both of the burgers and refused to refund me for it. I didn’t feel like arguing about it. The second time, I ordered a specialty dog and fries, they charged me for two orders of fries and when I asked to be refunded for the second order of fries they said they changed their pricing even though the board price was unchanged. Loved the food and location! Only one massive issue: What is with the staff? I saw one girl running about like she would get fired if she wasn't picture perfect while the cashier played on his phone! Not to mention the manager was quite snippy with the poor girl and didn't once comment on the cashier. Seriously, that's not okay. 10/10 for the server girl, 5/10 for the cashier and 0/10...
