This private establishment allows HOMELESS, disheveled, drug addicts and clearly mentally ill people into their establishment. They HARRASS you, asking what you are looking at while they behave irradically. Nausea and anxiety inducing.
Frontier makes so much money but yet refuses to have a doorman to filter them. Greedily and recklessly, Frontier takes the few pennies from the homeless, shame on you, Frontier.
Hence, this place is for THE POOR and LOW INCOME people. It's not really made for college students. Frontier FAILS to distinguish them. From a business perspective and profit-wise, Frontier sees a poor college/grad student to have equal value as a homeless person.
If you think YOU BELONG in that social group, what essentially pennyless/homeless could afford, using the same lanes, the same tables, the same bathrooms as THEM, then this place is FOR YOU!
It's essentially 1-2 levels up from a soup kitchen / homeless shelter.
Would you send your 18 years old college freshman daughter to dine here by herself at 9 pm, with headphones on, to do homework? Do you really think that this place is safe? And if you wouldn't send your daughter here, why would you do it to yourself?
If you rate this place high without demanding to the owner to make safety changes, then maybe you truly don't mind being identified as a member of this social group and are VERY PROUD of it and of FRONTIER.
Advice to the owners: don't be cheap, invest in our safety as it is worth more than your millions of dollar houses. Hire a full-time guard, don't you know where you are at??? Also, if you want to be "fair" and help the hungry homeless, don't take their money (shame on you!), set up a side door for them or donate food to them (far from the restaurant).
Can you imagine the restaurant 'Fogo de Chao' having homeless people loitering right outside their property?
Consumer: For just a few more bucks, you can get the same/better food at Sadie's or a dinner. YOU TOO, don't be CHEAP and prioritize your safety over saving a few PENNY, Daniel.
Food for thought: homeless/drug users is just a local problem. ABQ residents and the city don't really do much about homelessness and drug use here, no action is noticed and every year is worse, but then again homelessness and drug abuse is an American staple trait and "American's own interpretation/practice of their freedoms." If you think that I am wrong, then propose to make homelessness and drug use both illegal and demand the local authorities to...
Read moreI love the food here. Every time I come I always get the sweet rolls. They are incredible. I also usually get the hot horchata which is very tasty. Last time I came here, I got the green chili stew which comes with a fresh homemade flour tortilla. It was delicious and not super spicy, instead boasting a robust chili flavor mixed with potatoes and ground beef. Today my husband got a half order of green chili chicken enchiladas. I ordered the Duke City burger. It was lots of meat, lots of cheese and quite a lot of green chili. There were other toppings as well, but these were the star of the show. I always get their french fries because they are battered, crispy little pieces of perfection. Not shown here is my daughter's favorite, the copy cat burger. She always gets it whenever we come. They also have amazing pancakes which are popular with other members of our family. I would recommend this restaurant for both large and small groups that are looking for a casual dining atmosphere. The restaurant is usually fairly quiet. They are self-service for the most part, except for bussing the tables. Each room in the restaurant has its own theme (like today we sat in the rug room which has many different styles of rugs as a prominent decorative feature). Ordering your food takes place at the front of the restaurant, where a huge menu looms overhead. There are several different stations where the cashiers can take your order, and they have a green flashing light which indicates which line is ready to serve you. Once you place your order, the ticket is filled and when it is ready to be picked up, your number will appear on the screens located throughout the restaurant. The food is served on diner style dinner plates that are placed on top of melamine cafeteria trays. The tables are your standard diner four-seaters with matching upholstered diner chairs. Since I have family that requires accessibility accomodations, I know this restaurant has accessible parking and entrances. The price range is about $10-15 per person, depending on...
Read moreMet my sister for lunch today at Frontier. We often enjoy a good cheeseburger. Have been going there for years, however, today sitting right next to us in the front room, near the order counter and self serve soda machine, was a street person not having the best of hygiene and odor, which was not the issue. He was to himself and quiet, but during our entire lunch he would take a big sip of water from one of two tall large plastic bottles that were his own, then proceed to tap (pound) on the side of his head, releasing water from either his mouth or nose and splashing it all over the floor and wood slat bench on which he sat.....everything was wet with food particles mixed in the water. To be honest, it was very disgusting! The clencher was when I observed him getting up and going to the soda dispenser machine to fill his very dirty bottles with water. The bottles were tall enough for the mouth of each to come in contact with the pour spout of the machine. Other customers then go to the same spout to fill their cups with soda. I felt bad for the middle age female employee who had to go and clean up everything after he (the customer) left. After reporting it to one of the managers, he pretty much told me there is nothing they can do. "We can't watch everyone". I felt that he didn't take my concern serious and just blew my complaint off. Seems to me this is a health and sanitary issue for other customers. Makes me wonder what we are exposed to when we eat and drink there. I truly believe other restaurants and places of service would not tolerate this, nor should they. I love Frontier, but it makes me think twice about...
