Service was terrible. First we parked in the car hop area, took about 10 minutes before we were asked to order. By that time we decided to go eat inside instead. It was 95 degrees outside, we didn't want to sit in the car. 1 person in line in front of us, didn't take long to approach the counter to order. We ordered 2 of the chile cheeseburger combos. The cashier said it would be cheaper to order 2 chile cheeseburgers and 2 drinks because it was happy hour, ok. $12 and some change. But fries are not included we wanted fries that's why we were ordering combos. She called the manager over and told here that I didn't understand that it was cheaper to order separately since it was happy hour. We told the manager we wanted fries that's why we were ordering the comb. An eye roll and a sigh. Now my total was $13 and some change. But still we were not getting fries. I said we wanted fries, please give us the combo. Once again I was told it was happy hour and it was going to be more expensive that way. Now my total was $16+, and there was a growing line behind us. Finally got our order placed. We asked for ice tea for our drinks, it was not available at the fountain they had to get for us from behind the counter. Cashier waited on the next person in line before getting us our drinks. The lady who was in front of us in line finally got her order. We sat down, received our order a few minutes later, took a couple bites of my burger and realized there was no green chile, checked my receipt, and had been charged for it. So I went back to the counter to get my green chile. Had to wait behind the lady who had been in front of us before because her order was wrong and she was getting it straightened out. Manager ask what I needed told her there was no green chile on our burgers. She yelled back to the cook that she needed a side. She walked away, the chile was put up in the window, another girl asked me what I needed I told her. She reached up to the window gave me the little plastic cup of chile. Of course by the time I got back to my table my burger was cold and husband had finished about half of his. I will NEVER go back to this place! Lenny Frequez needs to do something about the service at the NM institution. Managers need to be trained. Lenny should be embarrassed to have this kind of service attached...
Read moreI have been a fan of this place for decades; my parents used to take me when I was a teenager and as an adult I would get pretty strong cravings for this place often. Service and food quality used to be awful with slow/lost orders, bad service and inconsistent food. These problems got much better a few years back when they switched to a more modern computerized order system, but I'm sad to say that quality has started to slide yet again. It can now take well up to 30 minutes to get your order and when you do there is a possibility that it will be lukewarm. My last two visits were very disappointing. In one visit I had to wait a very long time for cold food and undercooked onion rings. I also quickly noticed that the amount of gravy I was given was very small. I had assumed this was just a fluke but to make sure I had enough gravy for more than a couple of my steak fingers on the next visit, I also ordered an extra side of gravy. This time I got 2 cups of gravy that again was barely filled. Mind you, a side of gravy is $1, which is pretty expensive for a simple white gravy. I even measured it this time and each cup was less that 1.5 tbsp of gravy. ouch. I was also shorted of my scallion which turns out to cost $1 each as well if you want additional. ouch * 2. I usually buy a bunch of about 7-8 scallions for that price at the grocery store or a huge bag of them for a few bucks at places like Shamrock.. I can understand that a restaurant during the pandemic is going to be struggling, but don't start getting cheap on us. If prices have to go up, then raise the prices. I will probably wait a month or so before going back. I will try to update my review one way or another at that point. I will keep my fingers crossed (pun slightly intended) because I will be a Sad Panda if I have to abandon yet another one of my...
Read moreWent for my first time today. I was a little worried with some of the reviews I have read, but it was nearby and I was hungry. I actually made a u turn to go back- I was originally headed to sonic.
I get in, hit the button and some answered immediately, took my order and gave me a total. They were polite and courteous.
I waited about 5 minutes on a burger, onion rings, and a drink. I ordered a single patty cheeseburger. I thought the double would be too big. I should have gotten the double meat. It was $6.99 compared to $3.99, but the cheeseburger I got was barely bigger than a Sonic Jr. Cheeseburger. I must say though that there can be no comparison to the taste. The burger here was really good! Much better than Sonic. I also forgot to ask for ranch so I had to make the young gentleman go back inside, and they charge for extra, which many places do. He did without a fuss and took care of it for me quickly.
Onion rings are really good, burger was good and made just like I had asked. Finally! A place that when I ask for extra mayo, they know what that actually means! (Without getting ridiculous) I must also pay praise to their cherry limeade! I have looked everywhere, even the infamous Sonic. Cherry sprite and a small slice of lime don't make a cherry limeade. Sonic needs to take a lesson from this place! I actually want to taste lime! This delivered PERFECTLY for me! Cherry wasn't too overwhelming either.
I didn't order their steak fingers or the strips but at some point I will definitely be back...
