I am staying here with a friend who is an Honors member, and this is my second morning at the hotel. The first night I met Jeanette who had no clue how rave her reviews on here are lol and she superceded any expectation I could have had! She went above and beyond to make us BOTH feel welcome:). The rooms are great, a little older but still pretty nice. Comfortable beds, all necessities provided it has been a wonderful experience. Until this morning. Now I probably do not fit your typical Hampton Inn guest profile. I am that loud, redheaded tattoo'd lady pulling up in my Buick Regal with my music obnoxiously loud bass thumping; I go outside and stand by my car to smoke my weed, lol the rooms are all non smoking! And I did stumble down barely awake in my rumpled pj's and slides. But nevertheless, I am a GUEST at the hotel, and my friend IS a member of the Honors. I am not familiar with the perks of this club but I know that I wanted a coke the first night and was attempting to purchase one from the front desk as I don't find any vending machines, smh. Well Jeanette made my night when she said the cokes are free! How absolutely NEAT! I was just tickled and impressed! So. Back to breakfast, oh I should also include that they stop serving breakfast at 10 am, and I scooted in at 9:57am yesterday, lol and around 9:51am today. So I make my plate, and I am parched, I just woke up lol. I go to the front desk to grab a coke, which I am assuming is still free, since im in the same room under the same account right? Well I guess the freebies are only for when you check in? My friend informed of this when I got back to the room madder than a wet hen over the front desk clerk's discrimination and blatant DISRESPECT. I left the breakfast room and went to the front desk area, and there was nobody behind the desk what so ever. I wait, peek around trying to get someone's attention. And here comes Mr Too Much Cologne Pants Too Tight from the BREAKFAST room where I had just overheard he and the breakfast attendant talking crap about me in Spanish! I still don't think anything much of it though, cause well I will just keep that to myself but. I asked for a coke. He turned towards the back where the cokes are, but then he turned back and asked me what room I was in. So I told him the room number and he didn't even move towards the computer to check anything, and he says, "I am sorry those are for Honors guests only!" And the way he spoke, looked at me was with complete disgust and disdain. Wtf?! I said well we are Honors.... And I could tell this young man was itching for a fight! I have too much PTSD and I am too old to be arguing with anybody over a free coke, so I walked away. But I WILL make sure that the manager knows, and the world knows, (well the review-checking world) knows too. NEVER judge a book by its cover, I could say my piece on my opinion of this young man and his particularly flamboyant style.... Lol but I will leave that alone. Other than this small hiccup my stay has been amazing. Now I am off to blast my Bluetooth speaker and get some sun at the pool til late checkout. I hope this makes Mr. Hampton Coke Police violently I'll lol! ...

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Midtown in Albuquerque. And I was very prepared to write a very scathing and angry review. My father, daughter and I stayed for four nights, to attend a memorial for a very loved family member. During our stay, on two of those days, pretty horrible, time consuming, inconvenient… and a little disgusting hotel related things happened. Things that happen at hotels on rare occasion… an engineering problem and another pretty serious problem that I don’t want to mention because I really don’t want to slander the hotel. It’s not my way. It can be said that our stay hadn’t really been restful at all. We’d gone to Albuquerque for a memorial and staying at this hotel had made it that much more difficult. However, I’m not choosing to write a critical review at all because the hotel staff and management handled themselves and the situation as best they could. And also I believe, as they should have. In one instance, our room was changed immediately. And when the other problem occurred, because we’d had two major incidents, we were comped the fair and right amount for the cost of our stay. The size of the gesture was equal and fair to the amount of inconvenience. In short, they chose to do the right thing rather than gouge is for money. The staff at the hotel weren’t at fault for what had happened. But they still did their best and did what should have been done. I’m someone who is very understanding. I’ve worked in hospitality. Problems are inevitable. How people handle them is a choice. And Hampton Inn staff are kind and good people. So, all of that to say, the rooms are nice enough and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is pretty impressive really. I don’t think the hotel could have done much to stop the two things that happened. Because they had the grace and the integrity to handle the situation as they did, I would stay at this hotel again. Give them another chance. I can understand that with so many rooms at so many people sometime really horrible things happen. Unfortunately, a couple of those things happened to me and my family. But I think the Hampton Inn is really fortunate to have the staff that they do handling emergencies as they come. So, thank you to the manager. You made the right decision. And thank you to the employee who had come in from another Hampton Inn, who knew it was best to pause, hold off on taking payment because the computer systems were down (this wasn’t one of the two things) and to let us leave and figure out how and if we were to be charged, later. Which we weren’t. For which we are grateful enough to write a...
Read moreI just spent three days here with my dog. Was visiting ABQ to attend a concert and comedy show at the Lobo Theater. This hotel was perfect as it was just 3 miles from the venue. Less than 10 minute drive from the hotel. My room was immaculately clean. The bathroom and bathtub were spotless. I enjoyed baths in the very large tub, with plenty of very hot water (be careful you don't scald yourself, it's so hot!). Room had a mini-fridge and microwave, desk, chair, and two queen beds. There is a small gravel dog walk area with doggie pick up bags dispenser and trash can, although it appeared most people didn't pick up after their dogs. (I did.) There is a walking/bike path between the hotel and a drainage ditch. Beware as there are lots of goat heads and cactus stickers that I had to pull out of my dog's feet. Although I didn't use them, the outdoor pool and jacuzzi were closed after the first night, I think due to rain. The staff were wonderful. Cheyenne answered all of my questions over the phone before I arrived. Later when I called the day of my arrival to check for my room (I had requested first floor close to an exit), they had assigned me a first floor room. Everyone I encountered, from the front desk, to the kitchen staff refilling the breakfast items, to the maintenance worker were all pleasant. The hotel was busy with Balloon Fiesta guests but it seemed like everything was going smoothly because staff did not seem stressed. Breakfast was pretty good, with a variety of hot and cold foods, Canadian bacon was a nice change from greasy sausage or bacon (although I love both). Bed was comfortable, room was comfortable and cozy. A/c worked well and kept me from overheating in the middle of the night. The only thing I would suggest is a little more lighting or a large round light up magnifying mirror in the bathroom to see to put on makeup. It was too dark in the room to see well enough to apply makeup in front of the full length mirror and the bathroom mirror was too far away to see to apply mascara. I managed and it wasn't the end of the world. Overall, a great stay. Convenient to I-40 and Central. I highly recommend, especially if you are heading to an event at the...
