The west side Tractor location is a small minimalist neighborhood establishment. I appreciate there being a nearby in & out place to take someone for a craft beer. I’ve always like the beer at their larger east side location. I moved into a home nearby. I finally had a chance to visit this place. I have a few critiques as someone who has been a business consultant in the past and family businesses. They need better signage or direction about what to do. Assume it’s a new customer walking in who has no idea how things work. I walked in with a friend to sit at a table. There were two people at the bar. The bartender wasn’t busy. I had the impression the bartender wasn’t going to walk out from behind the bar and over to our table to take an order or offer anything. People shouldn’t guess what they need to do to get drinks. I went up to the bar and looked at the wall to order a couple of drinks. I asked if they had food. I had wrongly assumed they did because on the outside window of the place was signage about downloading a menu. The bartender said there was pizza next door and a food truck sometimes comes in the evening. I would have liked knowing that before going in. I almost asked the bartender for a couple of glasses of water. When I sat back down I saw a table by the wall with what looked like a water station. Put signage above it indicating it’s a water station. Post signage outside and inside about food and how it can be ordered from next door and the specific schedule for the food truck nights. Consider teaming up with the pizza owner and building management to open an inside door between the establishments. I did this in Santa Fe (caveat of signage posted that no alcoholic drinks leave the brewery side) and we both increased our sales. Are drinks ordered at the bar or are they supposed to visit the tables? I walked out not knowing. Teach the bartenders to up-sale the product by asking, “Hello, have you been here before?”. “Here’s how everything works” and ask the patrons what they may be interested in if it’s their first time. You’ll sell more and gain repeat customers. You have one shot to get it right for first timers. Tighten up the window signage, the process and staff training. The place is clean. The beer is good....
Read moreThis is a reply to JJ. I'm pretty sure I know who you are, and the servers at Tractor on the west side have been more than accommodating. You got upset one evening when Michaela was going to change out your glass with a new glass. You explained to her that you had some kind of a stomach virus, And that the soap in a new glass would cause issues. Michaela accommodated . What bothers me about reviewers like you, you focus on the little things that don't tailor to your little world. The servers at Tractor work hard, they are service oriented, and very much liked amongst the local community. Choose your words wisely sir. I would also like to state that Fallon and her crew run a tight n pleasant ship. They work hard, while dealing with tough customers, yet roll with the punches. My friends and I who frequent Tractor on the west side are never disappointed. We love their company, of course I'm talking about the staff, they are very professional, and positive. I had a conversation with Fallon tonight about a recent customer who has visited the west side a few times within the last couple of weeks. He is not an easy customer, and was really insulting to Fallon. Fallon handled it professionally and accordingly. I would hope that upper management and ownership take some of these reviews with a grain off salt. It's not easy when you're dealing with folks who have had one too many, and Tractor staff is required to maintain a cool temperament. That said, Tractor is our spot, and we will continue to be there to support this...
Read moreTo the gal on my wife's birthday that said "I will never steir you wrong" good job and thank you for the orange . However to the guy who believed he was doing a good thing with the coconut. . My wife does not drink hard liquor. She ended up throwing up while on her back. Thank God I was there watching her. I get you all were trying to do good for my wife's birthday, but understand some people can't handle hard liquor. I take responsibility too as I should have removed the alcohol. So just as a thought, know not all people can handle hard liquor. I was completely sober drinking root beer and I watched her go from 0-60 in min. Over all we had a blast and it was a good day. BTW she was crying because we lost a dog recently. I still recommend Tractor and appreciate everyone...
