Beans n' Cream — Restaurant in Alexandria

Cute little coffee & ice cream shop. We were the only customers other than ppl using drive through. Only one person working & she had a big drive through order. She acknowledged us & said she be with us as soon as she could but since she was by herself, it was about 10-15 minutes before she could help us. The selections of everything were small (1-2 smoothie flavors, 6-8 ice cream flavors) and the flavors of ice cream were kind of random flavors like raspberry tart & pink bubblegum. It was approx 5:30-6 so most of the items like fresh cookies & muffins were gone with no hope of more (even though they still were open for another 4 hours). The cashier said it had been a slow night but the empty tables were haphazardly clean & chairs were all over the place. To me it looked as if customers used the tables and then left, but the tables were never wiped down and put back to rights (the napkin holders, table decorations and chairs straightened back up) You could tell at one time it was probably a popular/busy store but not so much anymore. It looks neglected, the smaller things that could be fixed/dealt with hadn’t been like the paint that was fresh & bright at one time is scuffed and scratched up from chairs & tables hitting the wall, the table decorations were damaged (probably from kids playing around with them) To me, there was nothing really good or bad that stood...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Beans n' Cream, and I must say, it was an experience worth every minute! Their coffee is ok. Not many places to chose from in Alexandria. Unfortunately, they have succumbed to the strains of COVID fear-mongering and are drive-thru only on reduced hours.

Update: I don't know if they've changed anything but their coffee has seemed a little better somehow, as of late. I do know this, this shop has persevered and progressed through the unknown of bthe 2020 COVID debacle, survived TWO ridiculous hurricanes (Laura & Delta), continues to provide coffee and ice cream in a market that doesn't seem to covet coffee as much as other states I've lived in, and has not closed down so, I have to give them credit where it is...
