My wife and I are excited that this restaurant is finally open. It is located in a strip shopping center off King Street in Alexandria, VA. There is plenty of free parking at this restaurant and appears to be wheelchair accessible. The front doors are not automated. Due to COVID-19, they are not offering inside dining. They do offer gloves and hand sanitizer upon entry at a station by the door and the restaurant is very clean and all employees are wearing masks. There is also a clear plexiglas barrier at the register. The restroom is across from the register located at the rear of the restaurant. Brick veneer lines the walls and there are two televisions (one on each wall). One wall has comfortable bench seating with tables while the opposite side is strictly traditional tables. The food comes in a nice bag with silverware, napkins and pickled radish (sweet/sour/crisp flavor). We were surprised that the pickled radishes were included. Each chicken item we ordered were well coated with sauce and had about 10 large tenders in the box. The #9 Garlic Soy Tikkudak is slightly sweet with a satisfying garlic flavor. The #5 Curry Chicken is sweet and spicy with a good curry flavor. The onion rings were crisp, but did not come with any dipping sauce. None of the chicken comes with any dipping sauce. Just a box of whatever you ordered. We thought the food was very tasty and will be returning to try more items...
Read moreI normally don’t do this but I wish I knew before I went and I don’t want someone else to go through what we did. Now there may be some who like the large portions and deal but my wife and I I couldn’t.
I’ll start off by saying there are no pictures because we thew it all away. We spent 58 dollars and threw it out.
We had had 1x wings spicy garlic, 1x tenders soy garlic, 1x fries, 1x Parmesan fries, 1x Thai tea boba.
The pictures of the fries I saw on google are not it. It’s like they took the frozen crinkle fries at Walmart, soaked them in water, baked them, then threw a pinch of salt. They came out bland and not soggy like they have been sitting in the box too long but soggy like from the inside out.
The Parmesan fries were the same but they just through some powder tasting mess on Top that I guess is suppose to be Parmesan.
The wings again you get a lot. If that’s all you care about then go here. The meat doesn’t taste like anything. Legit no flavor. The breading had no flavor and the sauce was below average.
The boba well I’ve had a lot of boba on both coast actually. I wouldn’t consider it boba. The flavor I got was Thai iced tea and tasted like black tea with orange powder in it.
Again I just want to be honest not vindictive. Who knows maybe I just caught them on a bad, understaffed day. I won’t be giving them...
Read moreFood was not terrible; the flavor was good but the chicken texture was too fatty and a little dry. Service wasn't bad except for one occurrence:
I asked if they served half whole chicken. The employee said yes and charged me $13.86, which also includes extra radish for 50 cents. I waited 20 minutes. Definitely have a better system for customers if you want to contact them (ask for a phone number).
I went to pick up my food, and was told they don't serve what I had originally asked for. The employee mentioned he tried to look for me. So to replace what I ordered, I asked for tenders. The employee then charged me another $2.22. I waited 15 minutes. He was very apologetic. The bag contained the items but only one cup of radish, which I'm not sure is extra radish?
Tenders as mentioned were flavorful, but not crispy as what I ate in the Lorton location. The chicken itself was a little dry and too fatty. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience due to that, but I'm definitely going back to the Lorton location not the Alexandria one. Thank you though.
Edit: I couldn't finish the tenders; my friends know I always finish my food and this was too nauseating to eat after 5 tenders. The radish however was delicious...
