Our recent visit to Restaurant Dos Hermanos in Alexandria was a wonderful experience, and I must give special mention to our waiter, Manfredi. His service was nothing short of extraordinary – the kind of attentive, warm, and professional care you might expect at a high-end resort. He made our evening truly memorable.
The restaurant itself is incredibly family-friendly, which was perfect for us. There’s plenty of seating, and the food was exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear that Dos Hermanos takes pride in delivering a top-notch dining experience.
While the evening was almost perfect, I do have a couple of minor suggestions. It was a lovely and breezy evening, but dining on the deck would have been even more enjoyable with ceiling fans or table windmills to keep the flies at bay. Additionally, there was a bit of a delay in getting our drinks, likely due to being slightly understaffed. It would have been great if our waiter could have stepped behind the bar to speed things up, especially since we were trying to make sure our kids didn’t miss their sleep windows.
That said, the atmosphere was phenomenal, the restaurant was clean, and we will definitely be back. Dos Hermanos is a gem in Alexandria, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience, whether with...
Read moreThe servers are friendly and the place is cute, but it's always been a cute corner restaurant no matter what restaurant took it over. Maybe the location is bad luck because so many different restaurants have been through that spot and haven't made it. I don't know how long this place will stay. The food was very mediocre and bland. I tried really hard to like it there. I tried their lunch special where you pick 3 different items. And it was very over priced given the low quality of the food. I got an Al pastor taco, which was dry and unflavored. I got a fish taco, where the piece of fish was so small. And I got a shrimp enchilada. Usually places will cook the shrimp by grilling it before putting it into a taco, burrito, or enchilada, so that it's full of flavor and plump and a little crispy, but it seemed like they just boiled these tiny little shrimp here. But the people were nice and the chips and salsa were good. I still have not found a good Mexican restaurant...

My wife and I have come to Dos Hermano’s several times. It’s walking distance and we can have a few drinks without worrying about driving home. The food was never worth writing home about, but was okay. Our latest visit, however, will be our last visit.
My wife’s Margarita was overly sweet (too much simple syrup?) and the food was subpar, though edible. After the dishes were cleared, the waiter asked if we needed anything else. I said no and the bill was promptly placed in front of me with the implicit expectation that it was time to go, even though we had full drinks in front of us. I let him know that we would be taking our time to finish.
The worst part is they have started to add a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. They don’t tell you upfront and you only find out when you receive the bill. They can rationalize it all they want, but this doesn’t happen at...
