I ordered through DoorDash on Saturday night at 9pm, the restaurant is open until 10 pm on that day. I waited and continued to receive notifcations about my order being received, prepared and then out for delivery. Well past 10pm I still had not received my food and then I got a notification that my order was complete on DoorDash, I went to the link to track it and it said my order was cancelled. I had already paid for my food, delivery fees and taxes, as well as a driver tip. I contacted DoorDash and they informed me that the restaurant had their own driver and I would have to contact the restaurant the next day. Today I called the restaurant and was told that no one could deliver the food to me and I would have to come and pick it up. I went to the restaurant, explained the situation to the manager and was told there was nothing he could do about it. No refund was given for the delivery fees and tip, and no explaination as to where the money went. He stated that the order was placed too late and that no one had come to pick it up, but then also stated that maybe it was brought to the wrong address..... The situation was handled very poorly by the manager and I would not recommend ordering through doordash at this location. So I went into El lauro tonight to get takeout place my food with the waitress at the counter and I told them do you still charge for using a credit card she said yes it's on the door, now English is not their first language, so I say then I'm going to pay with cash and I will get a cash discount. She continues to ring me up and I do not get the cash discount she comes over and gets the other person who doesn't speak English either very well and doesn't understand what is going on and they continue to give me exact change and I was told just because the computer doesn't do it means that they can't give it to me. So in all in all they offer to do a cash discount so you don't have to incur credit card charges but when you ask for the cash discount they can't give it to you because the computer doesn't do it but when you ask for no charge on the credit card they say we have to charge you because the computer does it. So which is it do you give a cash discount so you don't have to worry about credit card fees or just continue charging everybody and forget to give everybody a cash discount and keep the discount for yourself and pocket the cash. Read moreThis was definitely my favorite taco place up until today, I am very disappointed with how they handled a simple mistake on their end. Being that I am a consistent and loyal customer I really did expect to be treated as one. Instead of even an apology I was told they need “proof” and that if they feel that there was a problem they would remake the order. I explained I would not have another break to come back and then was told to hold on to the food until tomorrow then bring it back in. This was there solution. I would have just excepted a simple sorry, wasn’t trying to get anything in return but was treated like I was trying to rip them off….. they even went as far as telling me that there was nothing wrong with me food but had not even seen the mess I was left with, my “tacos” looked like they shook the container and just dumped everything in.
