Fat Daddy's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Alexandria

Currently at fat daddy’s. Arrived at 6pm. Place was not busy. Many of the tables were dirty. Sat at one of the “cleaner tables” but table was still filthy. Took 10 minutes for staff to stop by. Took another 5 minutes to get table cleaned. Took another 10 min to get menus. Our waitress was training in a new employee. New employee was shadowing the waitress. Took food and beverage order. By the way……limited menu. Only apps and pizza. Short staffed due to deer hunting. Ok. Son got drink and me nothing. Had to go to bar to get beer. Food arrived at 7:10. Half our order. No utensils and no plates. Because our beverages had been empty for quite some time I wasn’t about to wait so I had to get them at the bar. One of two late food items - cheese sticks arrived ice cold. Literally the center of cheese sticks were cold. The last food item (bread sticks) arrived well after everything else. I’m not sure how a restaurant can screw up a bread stick order but this place did. The bread sticks arrived on a dirty bar tray (see picture). Might be the only restaurant in history to screw up a bread stick order. At least they have that going for them. Food was lousy and drinks were empty and not refilled. It was so bad I thought I was being pranked. No prank. The only joke is this place. To make matters worse…..my interactions with staff made the food seem like a great experience. $50.00 for horrible service and...

Ordered online for pickup. 8 minutes late, that's fine, i was only 15 minutes early. bartender was great, free coke while i waited. On to the food. 2 regular burgers, 1 only meat and bun for the child with a side of crinkle cut fries. He said it was good. second one was a burger with pepperjack cheese and bacon, with a side salad. Wife said the meat it was really dry. Now I ordered my old favorite, fatdaddy burger with waffle fries. i used to make that for myself all the time when i worked there. So i asked for no mushrooms, and add pickles. and it comes with lettuce tomatoes and i believe onion. Also bacon and cheese. the meat was extremely dry, and it only had the cheese and bacon on it, no other toppings. Now having worked there and knowing how to cook, i can tell you that the cook uses the spatula to smoosh down the burger to make it cook faster and uses a pan lid and a squirt of water for the same reason.

I was hoping this meal was going to redeem them in my eyes since i havent eaten there since i worked there over 8 years ago. unfortunately they will be on my list of places i don't eat.

Burgers are never smooshed nor cooked past med well. also it should have some juice coming out when you...

I can't comment on anything except the holiday buffet. It was horrifying. None of the employees were wearing gloves. The guy making omelettes didn't have anything covering his long beard and he kept reaching up to rearrange and itch it with his bare hands...which he would then dunk into the omelette ingredients. The first omelette at our table was unercooked, oozing with raw eggs. The prime rib was all overcooked and well-done. Two people at our table had paper chunks in their cheesecake. There was a large bowl of unwashed strawberries. The berry my kiddo picked for himself had mold on it. Our server dropped off water right away and we didn't hear from him again until we were almost done eating. We ended up having to clear our own dirty plates by putting them on an empty table that also hadn't been cleaned. We won't...
