Kiwi Kuisine — Restaurant in Alexandria

Ordered a dozen pies to be shipped to WA. Unfortunately the order I received was partially incorrect. I reached out to Kiwi Kuisine via the e-mail posted on their site. There was a delay in response due to my e-mail being received in the junk inbox, but once found the customer service to correct my order was absolutely amazing. Shannon was in touch quickly after seeing my e-mail. She was very sweet, understanding, and helpful. My new shipment just arrived and I can't wait to dig into them!

I ordered the mince + cheese pies and the steak + cheese pies. The mince + cheese are a bit more peppery than I'm used to from the pies back in New Zealand. The steak + cheese gravy is a bit heavier than what I'm used to. Overall though the taste and quality is amazing and so much closer to home than what I could ever make. Absolutely the BEST Key Lime Pie, anywhere!

For Father's Day, my daughter purchased me a Key Lime pie. This is a risky undertaking. As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of said pies, I was eager to try this offering of palette-pleasure, but also prepared for disappointment. Prior to this experience, the go to place for Key Lime pies was Simmons Seafood in Isle of Palms, SC (a wonderful fish market on the beach side of Charleston with excellent home-made KLPs). While I have no reason to believe Simmon's is not still offering top-notch pies, the traveling trophy now resides with Kiwi Kuisine! The pie was perfectly tart, appropriately firm, and did not suffer from the dye-green trap to which so many fall victim. I’ve been a most highly satisfied customer of Kiwi Kuisine for years. I generally have them deliver a dozen meat pies of varying selections every month, for six months at a time, then I renew. I’m hooked on steak & cheese, steak & stout and the steak garlic mushroom pies but I don’t believe you can go wrong with any of their gorgeous little pastry with lucious meat fillings, yummee, and this is from an Aussie expat who’s lived in DC for years.
