Rotolo's Craft & Crust — Restaurant in Alexandria

Pizza was about as sorry as it comes, the store bought frozen ones put this to shame, ordered a margarita pizza and had maybe 5 dollops of cheese with 85% of it being thin watery sauce. All with a visible layer of grease on top. Sorry excuse of a pizza. Next up the truffle fries…aka a bowl of oil with some freezer burned potatoes tossed in. Not sure where the Parmesan cheese they top this dish with comes from but it’s about as tasteless as it comes, Kraft having more flavor that it. Lastly the service was pretty abysmal. I know these are post Covid times and finding solid employees who actually care is challenging but this is some of the worst I’ve seen. We went on a Tuesday at around 6 so not a busy time with approximately 3 other parties in the entire place. I think our server came by a total of 3 times the entire stay and otherwise was nowhere to be found. We even watched 2 new parties come in and stand around for multiple minutes as all of the staff was in the back and nowhere to be of any assistance. So much so we watched one party wonder to the kitchen trying to get seated. The only redeeming factor about this place is the decent atmosphere. Well air conditioned clean and pretty new, although the seating is all hard wood benches and upright seating. Overall if you’re looking for the most bland pitiful experience where you will over pay out the rear this is your spot, otherwise...

Update: 5/11/21 Changing From 1 star to 5 stars after a return visit.

My wife and I decided to try it out again and give them a second chance, without mentioning the previous experience to the staff this time so it wouldn’t factor in on the service.

We had a totally different experience this time. We were seated immediately, like last time, but we received very quick and professional service from Ryan. Food was great. Glad we gave them a second chance. We will be back for sure.

—————————————————————————— My wife and I went on Monday 1/11/21 around 6pm. Several empty tables so I was shocked a little bit. Expected it to be busier at that time. Our first time and we were looking forward to trying it.

The hostess greeted us and was very friendly. Sat us right away.

However.........14 minutes later, we left, after receiving no service whatsoever including no drink order. A server never came to our table. Tables around us were waited on several times as we sat and watch. Others came in after us and got served. As we were leaving, we politely let the hostess know. She apologized and offered to get us service but at that point we just wanted to...

Well I’m big sad... I was real excited for a town to get a rotolos because we have one in ruston and it is 💯 But when I walked in there were 6 workers and after a few minutes of standing right smack in the middle of the lobby one of the workers said “what do you want?” I was picking up an order so a paid for it and made sure they knew I asked for a ranch Then they brought my order out with no ranch and When I asked for it then all the workers left to tend to random things. 7-8 minutes later I’m still ranchless and I’m big sad The food is 9/10 and beer is 10/10 but all that don’t mean nothing if the customer experience is 3/10... I hope they’re still here a year from now and I hope some management sees this comment so they straighten out those people up front! That’s the face of the business!
