Here's an expanded version of your review for The Warehouse in Alexandria:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Service and Cuisine
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Warehouse in Alexandria, and I'm thrilled to say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I called to place my order to picking it up in person, the experience was nothing short of stellar.
Let's start with the customer service. Eric, who took my order over the phone, was incredibly attentive and helpful. He patiently answered all my questions about the menu and even offered some great recommendations. His knowledge of the dishes and friendly demeanor made the ordering process a breeze.
Upon arriving at The Warehouse, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. Their friendliness and professionalism set a positive tone for the entire experience.
Now, onto the star of the show - the food. I ordered the New Orleans Trout, and it was absolutely fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection - flaky and moist with a beautifully crisp exterior. The Cajun-inspired flavors were bold and vibrant, transporting my taste buds straight to the Big Easy.
The sides were equally impressive. The mashed potatoes were creamy and indulgent, with just the right amount of butter and seasoning. The sautéed spinach was a delightful surprise - tender yet still retaining a slight crunch, and seasoned so well that even veggie skeptics would enjoy it.
What really stood out was the attention to detail in every aspect of the meal. Each component was not only prepared skillfully but also seasoned to perfection. It's clear that the chefs at The Warehouse take pride in their craft and understand the importance of balanced flavors.
The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, and the presentation was lovely - even for a takeout order. It's evident that The Warehouse doesn't cut corners just because the food isn't being served in-house. Great...
Read moreThe 2 stars are because the food was good, but had an extremely uncomfortable encounter with the hosts. I parked and called and was told there was a 2 hour wait. I walked into the restaurant in less than 5 minutes and was told by the same person that there was a 3 hour wait once he saw me. When I questioned it, he just shrugged his shoulders and said that's the way it is. Once my friend arrived, he said we can sit at the bar - unbeknownst to me there was a full bar with only two people seated that the host never mentioned. When I told the bartender I was told a 3 hour wait he said what! and looked extremely perplexed and started asking questions like of we'd made reservations - all of a sudden the non accommodating host pops from a booth behind us when he hears us talking and says I have a table for them right now, literally less than 30 minutes after I'd been told a 3 hour wait. THEN, we sit down, enjoy our dinner, constantly ordering drinks and the 2nd hosts comes over and says he can serve us another coffee but they have reservations and we need to go. I was FLOORED. I said it's now 815, the time we technically would've been seated after our 3 hour wait. He began to get visibly angry and told us they've accommodated us so basically we needed to go! I've lived in the area for 20 years and NEVER been treated this way. I didn't want to stay after the first encounter but my friend loves the food so I obliged. I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER spend my money in a place where I'm treated that way. There are so many nicer, friendlier places in the DMV. People, be aware, because I have a feeling they tend to judge a book by its cover. They should be careful who they're judging, they'd be...
Read moreWent here with my family for Easter dinner. I was excited to try a new place as it had so many 5 star reviews. I’m not sure if last night was an off night or those diners haven’t been to too many places. The atmosphere was fine. The waiter was friendly, but not what I would expect from a place listed as fine dining. I watched him dip the back end of a spoon into my soup to take something out before he brought it to the table. Once that was straightened out, the she crab soup was very good- really the best thing I had that night. The salad was wilted (likely made in large batches) and literally covered in dressing. My parents enjoyed the ‘gator bites’. After appetizers and salad, the entrees took a long time to come and were luke warm. I ordered the special that had filet mignon, and stuffed lobster tail. My parents got the seafood special, which was stuffed lobster tail, and more seafood baked in parchment paper with a sauce (lots of sauce). The mixed vegetable side, I believe is also made in bulk like the salad. The taste of the entrees was ok, but nothing mind blowing or memorable. The steak was cooked correctly (medium rare), but unseasoned. It came with a pad of Creole butter on top that was not melting because the food wasn’t hot. This restaurant has a lot of things on the menu, which I sometimes take as a sign that there’s really not a lot on it that is done exceptionally well. It proved true last night. You do get a good sized portion of food. I think what ultimately led to my mild disappointment with The Warehouse is that it’s listed as a fine dining establishment. This place is just ok. Def not 5 star service, food, or...
