Highly recommend! I called in to book an appointment and Melanie was so amazing. I explained to her over the phone that I had a semi mount but wanted to know my options for a center stone. The following morning I arrived and after showing Melanie the semi mount she asked me what my goal was. She listened patiently and after understanding my hopes, wants, and dreams she was able to explain all my options. She never once made me feel pressured or inferior. Melanie walked me through the different carat sizes and different settings to help me visualize what can be created. We communicated over the next couple weeks by email helping me create the custom engagement ring of my dreams. It was a wonderful experience. The day my fiance and I picked it up I was over the moon! The emails and pictures didn't do it justice until the moment Melanie revealed the ring! It was definitely worth the wait! While there we even tried on men wedding bands and getting my fiance sized. I came to mystique jewelers with a small understanding of what I wanted for an engagement ring but no understanding of what it meant to pick a diamond. The people at mystique jewelers took the time to not just show me rings but walk me through the diamond selection process, help me understand the difference between natural and lab diamonds, etc. They didn’t try to upsell but worked to my budget and strove to provide an excellent product. It came out so great that we came back for my engagement ring and our wedding rings. Our wedding rings were built from family diamonds I had and we were able design two beautiful rings that were a combination of old and new diamonds (and I can’t tell which ones were new!). Wow. What can I say? Liz and Melanie run a fantastic store with a family feel. You can sense the passion they have for what they do just upon entering the premises. The Old Town Alexandria location (which is the one I used) is spotless, spacious, light and airy, and is in many ways a jewel in itself. I gave them a custom engraving project and they not only did a spectacular job, but were proactive in keeping me informed as the work progressed--even offering suggestions along the way on how to produce a more dazzling result than what I originally had in mind.

Last but not least, their friendliness, their willingness to help, the pride in what they do, and the desire to have you walk away 110% satisfied are palpable and (if I may) quite rare and refreshing for a fast-paced, bustling town like a DC suburb.
