This place has, quite honestly, turned my entire opinion on starbucks around (into the negative). I moved to the Algonquin area in August 2015 and visited this place ALL the time because it's almost right next door to me. I am/was a Starbucks Gold Member... I drank starbucks at least once a day, sometimes two times a day. Let's start off with something smaller and move into the more negative experiences: The majority of the older drive-thru employees working here seem incredibly bitter. There is one lady who never smiles (AND I MEAN NEVER: She wears her hair styled in a bob and has glasses) and one lady who rarely smiles, has a high escalated voice like she's on the verge of a panic attack at all times, and does not - for the life of her - reach out to hand you your drink. She does hold the drink in your general direction, mind you, but you have to reach out to the tips of your very fingers to grab the drink. Every time I visited the drive-thru... the employees made me feel worse, incrementally worse... but still worse. Like I was bothering THEM. Like I was infringing on THEIR time. And the fact that I was spending $4-7 each time on my visits, coupled with their hidden attitudes (mostly the older ladies working here... some of the younger people are ok), made ME start to feel bitter! Why am I paying this much money to be annoyed by the employees? Now, onto some examples of bigger negative experiences. Near November, I actually walked into the store (sometime I rarely do!). Ordered a venti green iced tea (a drink I order in the later part of the day) and was given a weird lemon-tasting drink. Like a Lemon iced tea or something. I hate lemon. I was nice, though, and explained that I was given the wrong drink. A younger girl literally ROLLED HER EYES at me, grabbed the drink, didn't say a FREAKING WORD, and proceeded to make my actual drink. She gave it back to me. I said "Thanks." She just nodded her head. Near Valentine's Day, I ordered some weird valentines-week only drink they had. Don't remember the name. I was handed a regular black coffee. I drove away and it wasn't until I was almost 5 miles away that I realized I was given the completely wrong drink. Couldn't turn back, had a meeting to get to, but ended up going back at night time to get someone to replace the black coffee drink for the $4-5 one I actually paid for. There are plenty of other small annoying experiences but honestly, I think I'll just head on over to the one that finally made me decide I am completely stopping my starbucks habit - not just in this location... but in ANY starbucks location. Yesterday, Feb 27. I ordered a tall iced mocha, light on ice and WITH whip cream. I paid $3.93 for this tiny drink (the fact that starbucks is continuously raising prices... especially with my iced green tea drink... is also factoring into my annoyance). I got the drink and I immediately, without hesitation, COMPLAINED TO THE DRIVE THROUGH EMPLOYEE. I stared at the drink and complained right in front of her (she didn't say anything to me btw or offer me anything. I drove off). They had put a flat lid (not one of those curved lids to hold whip cream... but a flat lid so that they could put LESS mocha in there... so the whip cream would take up the room where the drink was supposed to go) on my iced mocha and the cup was filled up with roughly 75% mocha... and 25% whip cream. Not sure if I am describing it correctly but I took several pictures just to keep myself a reminder of how big of a ripoff starbucks is becoming. That - coupled with the incompetent employees of this particular branch - has completely made me sick of them. I am sure, through this review, that all of the drive through ladies will recognize me through my examples of situations and because - quite honestly - I was there 1-2 times a DAY! So. This, truly, is my final straw-goodbye. Never again, and I sincerely hope the majority of starbucks go under. I think more and more people are becoming sick of them - especially with their new loyalty program for gold...
Read moreTRY YOUR DRINK BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE DRIVE THRU AND BE PREPARED FOR THE PEOPLE TO NOT BELIEVE YOU IF IT ISNT RIGHT. This morning I was seriously jonesing for a hot chocolate - and I was also running late and in need of something warm to drink - I went through the drive thru - ordered a HOT CHOCOLATE with 2 pumps of chocolate syrup and skim milk. When I got to the office and took a sip it was COFFEE. I even had my workmates taste it. I was annoyed that I had to go back to get my drink corrected and when I got there and told the person behind the counter that my hot chocolate had coffee in it she said "I'll remake it for you but there is no coffee in it." Why? Because it didn't have coffee on the label?? Because she couldn't smell coffee in it??? -- then TASTE IT. I HATE COFFEE (sorry coffee afficianodos - just never acquired the taste) and still have that awful taste in my mouth. I tersely told the person that I do not like coffee, have no reason to lie to her about my drink, nor do I have any reason to waste my time bringing it back to get what I paid for. She continued to hold that there was no coffee in the drink (which she had not tasted) so I told her to just give me my money back. I will not be back for a VERY VERY VERY long time as I am extremely aggrevated. I even called the manager when I got back to the office to let her know how upset I was about this. Seriously not the way I want to start my day -- so I'm going to go to work with my wonderful CUSTOMER FOCUSED TEAM today and GIVE EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE - unlike what I received from Starbucks. PS - I also told the manager I was going to post...
Read moreYall have never gotten my drink once, and its not a difficult drink it just includes sweet cream instead of milk. Like literally never one time gotten it right? HOW? Its a caramel macchiato, which is a regular item on yalls menu. I was already invited by Jonah to come back for a freebie, i didnt do it, paid for another drink for it only to taste worse than the first messed up drink order which really was just a coffee and a shot of espressos i learned that i PAID 7$ for?! And again this am for my husbands order, grabbed a coffee thinking “oh its the am crew maybe it’s better “ but Nope. My drink was still wrong & at that point,I am home with no car to go take it back. Thanks so much for having me pay an extra 1+$ for a type of creamer & then never recieved said cream- unless i ask you to remake it at the window..its not wrong to expect dissatisfaction from a location when at all hours has failed to make one drink correctly. Skip this location, go further to randall where they understand instructions. So disappointed in yall raising prices for you to make...
