Read moreI stood there in the empty welcome desk and empty restaurant of the IHOP in Alahambra the time was 0230 hrs in the morning of Wednesday, March 20, 2019. To my right it appeared that a male employee was taking a break seated in a booth to my right a female employee was cleaning a table. I had been standing there for 3 to 4 min, the lady had finished cleaning the table and walked back to the enclosed kitchen area were she spoke in Spanish to a unk employee “ya vamonos” crudely translated “let’s get out of here” I entertained my self by looking at a breakfast menu that was laying on the welcoming front desk, I look at the menu several times trying to look busy but it has been six to seven minutes with no one approaching me for service. The male employee got up the booth and attempted to help me, I asked him if he was manning the floor, he answered no and called the name “Julio” who responded to the front “table for one” my response “what happened, you fell a sleep or what “ he replied “no, been working hard”. My thoughts ( in and empty restaurant) I find all this 3 characters complicit, the lady cleaning the table could have alerted “Julio “ that there was a customer waiting to be seated, Instead of talking “shop” and completely ignoring my presence, the male taking a brake could have acted sooner but at least he tried so I thank him for his efforts as for “Julio “ he completely missed his mark as a welcoming host. Was I upset that I was standing there for more time than necessary to be attended, yes I was and I showed by refusing to eat at that stablisment and spend my hard earned money as for the rest of the above described event is up to management to speak to the early morning staff of IHOP Alahambra and make sure it doesn’t happen to you...
Read moreSo they have this rewards program. I did not know I had signed up but I automatically signed up because I guess I had ordered previously to go. The food was great. The service was great wait time was great (we knew what we wanted so when we ordered drinks we ordered our food) saved lots of time. The issue was when I paid with 3 gift cards ($25.00 each) one gift card has about $6.00 remaining. Well after I paid he (server) let me know 2 gift cards now had 0 balance and the other card $6.00 he gave me a receipt but nothing to scan for the rewards. I mentioned it to him he said "probably rewards are not set up yet). REALLY...ITS WRITTEN EVERYWHERE IN THE STORE. I SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE $5.00 TIP. So I did not make an issue...but I wanted to go back but decided to let it go...I started to think maybe because he swiped the gift cards in 3 way transaction because the receipt that I had with the remaining gift card had a total of about $18.00 and that was not the grand total I started to think it must have been the 1st receipt with the total cost that had the bar code. But since I was paying with gift cards I did I did not want to make it difficult because you are able to pay with the app. So lesson learned. We will be back and we will see what happens next.
