MR LAN BBQ — Restaurant in Alhambra

This place rated 3-3.5 stars in my opinion. Even though it has good parking and close until 2 am. However, it has improvement because they don't have enough seats (has empty space for more tables) and good quality of foods in my opinion. Because we ordered some food but most impressive was cucumber with vinegar. Other food was decent but other Chinese Style of BBQ place is better than this place. Also, it is a small place so customer need to wait to get their seats, and services isn't very good for not care to the customer.

Overall it is not a bad place for Chinese skewers but mostly likely self service to get drinks. If people want to eat here, I recommend to eat their cucumber, pork belly, and...

Be prepared to wait a good 30ish minutes for the skewers. I originally went here for some low priced skewers, as I love me some yakitori, but honestly, ALL THEIR SKEWERS USE THE SAME SOICE RUB, AND AS A REULT, TASTE AWFULLY SIMILAR TO ONE ANOTHER.

Honestly would have given them 1 star, but the dumpings I got after saved it. The soup dplings are quite good! Especially w/ vinegar.

However, Green Onion Pancake we got after was really awkward to eat. There were spots with basically no green onion and just batter, as well as a spot with very little batter and a forest of green onion.

TL;DR: meh. I guess...

Updated 12/2022: Sadly this place has changed ownership. The food quality has gone downhill unbelievably. So sad my best BBQ place is gone :( I need to find another place. Avoid this place in future……. ————- Oh I love this place! Very authentic Chinese northwest BBQ. Always fresh and so delicious!
