April 2024 update- had to downgrade ratings to one star. Bought few Bor Law Bao, all were underdone. Very disappointed that they’d put undone bread on the shelf. The rumor has it they might have a different baker. Will try one more time before removing the “best egg tarts” comment. The phone listed probably was disconnected. So disappointed and I’m going to miss it. 2023 and prior - Best egg tarts in SGV especially the egg white ones. The service and packaging have room for improvement but I’m okay to put up with it for the delicious egg tarts.

Best Hong Kong Style Bakery in SoCal. I have been a fan of 85C for the longest time but slowly realized that they have no variety at all. Everything from 85C are just cookie cutter now. Simply Splendid Bakery offers so much more and most importantly, they have a variety of savory and sweet buns and are generous on the filling. My favorite is the tuna fish bun and Wife cake (老婆餅). Oh and their Ice lemon tea and hong kong style milk tea are legit!!!!!!! So authentic!!!!!You have to try it.

I stumbled upon this place when taking my mom to the Chinese market in the same plaza as this bakery. I make it a point to stop in every time I am in the area. Friendly staff in a small shop with a good variety of items. Delicious and fresh pastries. My favorite is their onion bun, light and savory altogether. I just tried the taro bun and surprisingly, it isn’t too sweet. A gem in the plaza with the Wendy’s. Must try!

Found out about Simply Splendid Bakery from my sister (thank you Lupe!) and I couldn't be more pleased about it. Stopping by Simply Splendid Bakery every time I am in the area is a must. They offer a wide selection of breads and they do not disappoint. My favorite are the pumpkin bread, croissant and pizza.

The bread is always fresh and they do run out fast.
