DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant — Restaurant in Allegheny Township

Just came from DQ Grill & Chill and I must say for a fast food restaurant the service was horrendous. The cashier couldn't figure out how to use the cash register, we ordered 5 Blizzards and not a single one was given to us upside down. On top of that the large Royal New York Cheesecake was just vanilla ice cream with no strawberry filling and no cheesecake bites. The large Royal Oreo Blizzard was just a regular Oreo Blizzard. The two large Dipped Strawberry Blizzards were just strawberry ice cream with very little chocolate pieces. We ordered 3 small vanilla ice creams and they put them in small cups not the mini cups. We also sat there for 30 minutes waiting for them to make everything. Instead of having one person ringing and the other team member making everything they had the person that rung us up made all our stuff. Therefore all the people that were behind us had to wait 30 minutes before they could even place their order. On top of that multiple people had uniforms that were to large, every single person was covered in some form of food. People were picking stuff they dropped on the floor and putting it back on the shelves. I personally will never go back to that location, that decision is coming from my experience in restaurants and management. That location was poorly run and should be ashamed of themselves. This DQ is a hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is excellent and orders are perfect, other times it’s a hot mess and everything sucks. Bought a cake last year for my son’s birthday l and it was perfect! Ordered another one this year and it looks like the icing is melting off of it despite the cake still looking formed and firm. Makes it appear super sloppy, not sure why they continued to pipe melted icing along the edge when it was so obviously dripping…now I’m scared to open the lip for fear that it’s going to make a huge mess. To make matters worse, it took ages to even order it because the cashier had to have her hand held while filling out the order form (name, date of order, phone number, pickup date, pickup time, cake size and type, and decoration requests). For the most part, I love Dairy Queen food. However, the Leechburg store leaves a bit to be desired. In a recent visit , I am 99.9 % sure my burger and fries were reheated/microwave. My last experience there, the food was fine but the service was not so great. I almost felt as though I was being a bother to the counter person. My daughter's blizzard was served before her meal without asking her preference and she was given a small blizzard cup for a beverage . Maybe an oversight, or just plain careless. My daughter is to polite to complain. However, these small things lead to bad reviews. Perhaps this location needs some additional customer service training or I was just there on off days.
