Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Allegheny Township

Allegheny Township Giant Eagle needs training on alcohol Sales. We encountered the rudest lady today named Tracy, her goal was to embarrass people, and the manager Mike Gentry was not much better! A 21 year old went to get a bottle of champagne and a few other little items and was refused service because a minor was with him standing from afar (which I can understand). He then had me meet him there at the age of 52! We re-entered with the minor not around, Tracy picked him out before he even got in line and yelled loudly across the room "I'm still not going to serve you" so I stepped up and said I will make the purchase. Tracy proceeded to raise her voice at me also saying "I'm not serving you either because you're gonna give it to him" (him being "21" then he is gonna give it to that minor)! My question is why in the world would she think or assume the liquor was being given to the minor, don't people shop together especially being that it is a grocery store, not a beer distributor or a wine and spirits store? I can see why she is working at Giant Eagle but in the meantime she and Mike both need customer service training at the very least! What a let down. Two days ago I called to order a full sheet cake for a Breast Cancer fundraiser. Spoke with an assistant manager because Doyle wasnt working that day and the lady I spoke with said they would discount $25 off the cake for the event and that she would be working today. All I needed to do was bring in a flyer showing the event when I came to pick it up. Welp I get there and two managers come to me and say neither one of them spoke to me and didn't know anything about it. One lady told me that this couldn't have been a discount on this cake because I would need a tax EIN # to get any discount? I explained no one told me about needing a Tax EIN and was told sorry. What a let down . Thanks Giant Eagle for letting down a resident whom lives in Allegheny Township. Paid full price for the cake and left....Not sure if we will shop here ever again. Keep in mind I also purchased about 30 cases of pop for this event just yesterday plus a ton of sandwich buns....

Giant Eagle Pharmacy Leechburg, PA. I made an appointment for a covid test through Quest online for the Giant Eagle Store in Leechburg, PA. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time but the Pharmacy drive thru window was closed even though this is where I was instructed to go on my appointment. I went inside the store and was told (after waiting ten minutes) that I needed to go outside to the drive thru and ring the buzzer and someone would help me. So, I got back in my car and drove through the drive thru. It was approximately 11:25 when the woman instructed me to go outside to the drive thru window again for my test. I rang the buzzer, honked, and waited until 12:05 and no one…no one responded to my call. And they instructed me to go outside to the drive thru so they knew I was waiting.
