Manager was Stacy R., Waitress was Maeggie W. We visited on 9-28 around dinner time, a party of 5, 3 adults and 2 kids.
The initial wait was okay, but eventually they brought out three meals, 2 bourbon bacon burgers and 1 chicken Parm with mashed potatoes. I generally wait to eat until my boyfriends food comes out, so that's what I did.
A bit later they brought out the kids chicken tenders with fries and barbeque sauce meal, the waitress Maeggie said the Bourbon chicken meal (my boyfriends meal) would be a little longer. The three other people with us began to eat while I waited with my boyfriend for his meal to come out.
It was about a half an hour or so AFTER everyone's food was delivered (except my boyfriends) when he decided to ask what the status on his meal was. He walked up to the waitress Maeggie and said "Excuse me how much longer on my food?" Her exact words were "It's still being made, about 2 more minutes". So we waited longer.
The other three people are essentially done with their meals at this point, my parm sandwich and potatoes are cooled down and untouched, and my boyfriend hasn't received his meal except for 1 refill of his soda.
At this point we are increasingly frustrated. We flag down another waitress and ask if we can just get the food taken off and go, because we feel with a wait this long we have wasted our time.
We go to the front and see the manager and the waitress fussing around with the waitresses meal tickets and explaining to each other how my boyfriends meal was never made, which was shocking to me because I think that we would have preferred if when we asked the FIRST time the status of his meal, if they would have been honest and said it was not even started. That way we could have made a decision on our own if we were even willing to wait for his food to be done, if we wanted it packed up so the three other people at the table didn't have to sit and watch him eat after finishing their meals, and so I could have had mine packed to go with his if that was the case. We were up next in line and the manager Stacy R. Says something along the lines of "I am very sorry I don't know how this happened, I asked them why it wasn't made and nobody is giving me answers. I can't get any answers. I know it's not your fault. I'll take the one meal off" and then she fussed around trying to take the meal off the ticket. I wanted to bring up that I hadn't touched my chicken Parm meal at all aside from sticking a fork in the mashed potatoes (to try to share with my boyfriend while we waited for his dish) and would have preferred for that to be taken off of the check as well.
He was very frustrated and we were just trying to leave so we could at least go somewhere else to eat as it was getting late into dinner. The manager then instructs the waitress to go pack up his meal for us to go, we say no thank you, she does it anyway.
We are still standing there and waiting at this point, just waiting to pay and leave and after a little while longer the waitress brings over the meal and says "the fries are still being cooked"
We tell them no we do not want to stand and wait more for fries to be cooked, for a meal we had to wait an excessive amount for that we somehow still had to be made to wait for.
The manager then hurriedly fills out 20$ worth of coupons to give to us, which unfortunately we have no use for since we will not be returning, and we won't be giving them to anyone since we don't want anyone we know to go there either.
This was an incredibly off putting and frustrating experience. I know things happen, but honesty in the situation would have been better than being repeatedly told that the food was "on its way" when it really wasn't even being made...

It took over 20 minutes for our waitress to even come to the table and explain to us that the reason we waited is because they were trying to figure out who was going to serve us. We saw 2 other tables walk out before ordering in this time, there were maybe 5 other tables in the entire restaurant. Placed our drink order and waited another 10 for our waitress to bring them and had to stop her to place our order as she was just going to drop them and leave again. One of our side dishes was incorrect and rather than fix it the waitress argued that we were wrong because she wrote it down, she wrote the wrong thing. Then told us we could eat it if we wanted to and she would just leave it on the check, we had to explicitly ask for it to be removed as it was not what was ordered. Server never checked in once during our meal, again down to probably 3 or 4 tables total at this time. Once we finished the restaurant had another few tables come in so we waited for what felt like a good while before my wife took the kids to the car and then I proceeded to sit, alone with empty plates for another 10 minutes before our waitress stopped by to see how things were. I had to ask her for the check at this point and she explained that she was "just really busy because she has 2 other tables too". The food was good and I'm glad we got to try it out but if this is how it is when there are only a few tables mid afternoon I couldn't even imagine the nightmare service during their peak hours. Definitely would not...
We ordered 2 meals for take out and it was completely messed up. I paid the bill after waiting for someone else trying to pay with a giftcard took 3 people to figure out. I was just handed a bag nothing was gone over with me. I went out to my car and checked the order. My food was not even in the bag. My husband's was. He requested his sauce on the side and beer cheese to go with his fries. I found the sauce containers in a smaller bag. I went back inside and was completely ignored by the person that just gave me my food. She tried to skip over me to the next customer. She went and found my food and handed it to me. I came home to find the sauce containers that I checked before were not the sauces they should have been. It was gravy and something that I cannot determine. My husband sandwich was not made with the correct toppings. He was forced to drive back to the restaurant. It is over 15 minutes each way. Beware of this store. We all miss king's terribly. It is a shame that they sold. I was grateful to hear valley dairy restaurant was replacing this location but the entire staff of kings is gone and the staff at valley dairy is not trained well. We will be sticking to the great locals...
