Wife and I went for breakfast today Monday. Have been here few times since opening on Mondays as other places we usually go are closed. Past nothing great but still wasn't bad, hey its breakfast right. Wrong!! To start off waitress Sue had a personality of a brick wall but once again there for breakfast. Wife ordered eggs , bacon xtra crispy and wheat toast dry. I also ordered my breakfast with wheat toast dry. Apparently Cook and or waitress interpreted bacon limp and both are toast BURNT!!. And I mean BURNT!!!!I would be embarrassed as a cook and a Waitress to serve this toast to a customer!!. When I said something waitress said ok I will get you new toast. The 2nd batch of toast came out basically barely heated bread, which is basically as bad as burnt, we had dippy eggs which were getting cold so we ended up scraping off a few of the first slices which was not enjoyable. I asked the waitress really you would serve burnt bread like this to a customer and she really didn't respond and was not at all apologetic only to bring us basically untoasted bread instead. Also will state there were as many waitresses as customers at time we were there approx 1045am. Each time we have been there from when this location first opened we have noticed less patrons and also harder to get coffee refill. I never new Toasting 101 was so difficult 😫. I did ask to speak with manager Beth I believe and showed her the burnt toast and asked her if she would serve this to a customer and she said no unless they ordered it that way. Seemingly insinuating we ordered burnt toast !!!! Which as stated previously ordered xtra crispy bacon which wasn't and dry toast meaning no butter not burnt!!. Neither Beth or waitress Sue were apologetic in any way and Beth kinda had a smile on her face almost giggling when interacting with us as if she appeared to think it was funny. Not sure she has supervisor skills. She did discount half of bill and generally I refuse to accept a discount etc when I have an issue because I'm not looking for a discounted or free meal but to make my concern aware so someone can correct it. Basically we were so disappointed and wanted to get out of there so I just paid what she discounted bill was. So to sum up, I can't believe a cook and waitress would serve toast like this, then serve untoasted bread as replacement. A supervisor with non apologetic skills and basically a decline in quality and service from when first opening. Have absolutely no desire to return. Tried to attach saved photos but site denied...
Read moreAfter hearing about Valley Dairy Restaurant from a number of people my wife and I decided to try it out for lunch. The atmosphere reminded us of a diner, and the staff was pleasant and helpful.
My wife ordered the Fried Chicken Bacon Club with fries. She said the flavor of the club was good, but the chicken was overcooked and somewhat dry. After a few bites of the fries she decided that they weren't worth eating. She said they tasted like they were fried right after funnel cake was made in the same oil.
I ordered the Liver and Onions with Chili and Seasoned curly fries. The fries where fine, but there weren't many. The chili was pretty good. The liver on the other hand was well overcooked and dry. The description on the menu says "Tender liver carefully grilled and topped with lots of grilled sweet onions". It was neither tenderly grilled, nor where there lots of grilled onions, but more like 5 rings from a small onion.
Will we go back? Probably. I realize there can be off days for any business. This one just seemed really off which made for a really disappointing...
Read moreI recommend you trying the place out yourself. That being said, me and my wife don't plan to go back. Food had no taste to them (flavor or seasons), nothing was cooked long enough (French toast was undercooked in the middle, potatoes was still more solid, peppers n onions in the omelet just looked and feel heated up for few seconds) and that was my meal. My wife had concerns with her open face meat loaf. To add more, on the drive home, wife started feeling sick and wanted to puke. She made it to the bathroom once we finally got home. Stomach felt bad up til this morning. Again, try the place out yourself, maybe it was just a bad day for us to go. But yea, we never going back again. The staff were nice though. That's probably the only good thing I got. Oh, and water tasted straight like from the sink. Which many places do that I'm sure... I recommend a different process for that if the water gonna taste like...
