Little Tokyo — Restaurant in Allegheny Township

I’m from out of state and our family eats a lot of Japanese food where we live out west. Some of the family enjoyed this place and the subtle differences from the sushi/ramen we normally eat…while some did not. There were as many negatives as positives: The tempura sweet potato roll was kind of soggy. Not sure the tempura ever got crispy. The broth to the spicy miso ramen was not spicy but was actually pretty tasty! The noodles and other accoutrements in the bowl were all pretty average. The rainbow roll was decent but maybe not the freshest. The taro boba was real sweet, the taste was pretty good otherwise. The boba themselves were a bit shriveled and kinda funky. The staff was kind. The location was convenient. The order was all to spec and done quickly....

Sushi is the best you can get in town. however, the ramen is not really up to par. There is other ramen places near Altoona that you can get a much better more authentic bowl for a much better price. Its the best you can get in Altoona because its the only ramen you can get in Altoona. Staff is friendly and a good atmosphere, only other issue is with the website they use its very buggy and I always seem to have issues with it, I wish it was just me but other people I work with also have issues with it as well. This place is a wonderful hidden gem! Well, it's not exactly hidden, but it's very unassuming from the outside. We were promptly greeted as we entered the shop, and the gentleman working was so hospitable. He eagerly told us about the new menu items, as well as popular dishes since we had never been there before.

I have been wanting to try real Ramen for the longest time, so I got the spicy barbecue pork Ramen (pictured), my husband got Vietnamese pho with chicken, and we got a sex salmon sushi roll to share.
