Aci Halal Meat & Turkish Restaurant — Restaurant in Allentown

Abe was the kindest and most accommodating of hosts! We arrived famished 5 minutes before closing. Abe welcomed us with a warm smile and his loving wonderful spirit. I was visiting from out of state and needed to buy extra fine bulgar to make Tabbouleh for a pot luck. Aci Halal was one of the few Mediterranean markets still open. The small restaurant was crowded with joyous customers. Abe cleared a just emptied table for us and treated us like family. The best med food I’ve eaten! I am from SLC and have been to many Mediterranean restaurants. The lentil soup was fine & light with hints of lemon. The shepherd’s salad with feta was wondrous. Babaganush was creamy. Patlican Sosolu had all the right flavors. Bread was served warm with roasted sesame seeds. This is an over the top shop oozing with warmth and deliciousness. And BTW ladies-Abe is single. One of the nicest men I’ve ever met. You will never know hunger nor live without love. Whatever you get-do not pass on the rice pudding. Hands down the best rice pudding in my lifetime. The surgeon at the next table said that he works with an Egyptian Dr who claims Aci Halal to have the most delicious and authentic food in the Lehigh Valley. My Mom and I are Pennsylvania Dutch. We both loved the food and our total experience. It made our day and gave us a blessed experience to remember....

What a terrific Turkish restaurant! I randomly looked up Mediterranean restaurants in Allentown and read reviews. We needed to meet some friends and Allentown is the halfway point. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive for Aci Halal. So I called and made a reservation with a friendly woman on the phone. When you arrive you enter through the food store and Halal meat market and go to the cozy dining room. There's around 10 or so tables. Not fancy but welcoming all the same Well, the food was AMAZING and the service was great too! I felt like a special guest the entire time, like we were dining at a neighbor's home. There's plenty of parking and you can get some takeout as well as seasoning and other goodies from the store. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE FOOD...

Complete waste of my time. I spent 32minutes waitunw for my otder. They had 3 other customers sitting down to eat .That were already there. I ordered 2 lousey sandwiches and had to wait unreasonable amount of time only to find out that my order was messed up. He comes out with one tiny I might add sandwich and all he has that he heard me say 1. He didn't offer anything or try to correct the situation he just looked at me like I was going to just go on my merry way. It's dirty, cluttered looking and overall pretty ghetto looking inside .I would have never thought to order there until I thought it would be nice to try something new.
