My daughter had her dance recital at Miller Symphony on 5/31. We had to go online on April 22nd at 12pm to purchase tickets for the show. The website is absolutely terrible and barely allowed me to even get tickets even though I was logged in AT 12 on the dot. I purchased 9 tickets totaling $189.00. My daughter is 6 years old and practiced all year for this show. I never received the confirmation email from Miller Symphony and when I called them nobody answers the phone. I went to pick up our tickets at will call prior to the show. The lady at the front desk told me that they found my tickets but they were for the 9:30am show not the 6:30pm show that my daughter was performing in. I told her that must be a mistake. She proceeded to ask a supervisor about this issue which seemed to be resolving. Another manager then came over and looked me dead in the eyes and told me "there is nothing that we can do, I don't know what to say." She also proceeded to tell me that their website has been having issues. The manager told me that there was no way for them to help me since they were "at capacity" and that the theatre has a fire code to follow. I walked away crying because I was distraught being told I would not be able to see my 6-year-old daughter perform in her second dance recital. How can they do this? Provide no options or accommodations for a mother just trying to have the service that was paid for provided to her. They did not even allow me to have the opportunity to stand and watch or look for any empty seats WHICH THERE WERE MANY EMPTY SEATS! Needless to say, I found a ticket so I could see the show, with NO help from this...
Read morei’ve been here probably 4 times now. The performances are fantastic, the onstage guests are phenominal, and the director is inspirational. We are so lucky to have such a great symphony in our area, but I cannot ignore this any longer. Why is the staff always talking and unwrapping snacks during the show!? The performance has barely even started and I’m hearing talking and eating. Plus, if you have a watch that goes off every hour, why are you coming to work with your noisy watch and distracting the audience?? And why is the audience genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever experienced? Was this last performance for tuburculosis or covid victims or something, the amount of coughing was genuinely hilarious and is the reason why I’m leaving during the intermission. I understand this isn’t the venues fault, but why are we also providing snacks and wrappers for an audience that doesnt even know when to stay home and would rather get the entire theater sick with a cough. Absolutely classless.

Read moreWe went to Miller Symphony Hal for the Frank and Ella performance a few nights ago. The orchestra and the entertainers make you wonder why anyone would battle their way into Filthadelphia when such great talent can be enjoyed so close to home. Parking is safe and free a half block away. The show is always fabulous. The Frank and Ella show featured great songs from the Great American Songbook. Songs included hits from Guys and Dolls, and the lyrics were and will always be just a joy. These songs were written and arranged and played by the great musical geniuses of a bygone era, but they still pack a punch. There were people in the audience who quietly hummed or mouthed the wonderful melodies and words of superstars like Cole Porter, Ray Charles, and the arrangements of Nelson Riddle, who was the absolute king of arrangements. In three notes, you'll be able to identify a Nelson Riddle work of art. I so appreciate Miller Hall for hosting all the variety and talent we all...
