El Tipico Restaurant — Restaurant in Allentown

I started eating from here 4 years ago. It wasn't until now with all the new staff they have, that things went downhill. BE CAREFUL WHEN USING YOUR CARD TO PAY. IF YOU DONT INTEND TO LEAVE A TIP-CROSS IT OUT. The young lady who served me gave herself a $7 tip- I did not authorize- because I forgot to put a line thru the section before I handed the signed receipt back. The food is not great and the portions have gotten smaller, they give you more rice than anything when it's to-go. It's disappointing when you pay $12 for a meal that isn't satisfying or filling. I slowly went there less and less and would only go if necessary because it's close to home but I won't be going at all now. I will go out my way to other restaurants when I need...

I wasted $30.00 on a fried snapper dinner which only includes one side. I was okay with the price until the food was delivered. First of all, the snapper was average in size and was EXTREMELY salty. I couldn’t even eat it, WAY TOO MUCH SALT!! The salad came with a small amount of salad dressing so that was a waste as well. I wish I could include a picture, it’s about 2 teaspoons of salad dressing. The only thing that was edible was the fried sweet plantains which needed to be more ripe. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!! Wow, awesome latin food at it's best. They have a big selection on their menu; shrimp, octopus, codfish. A good variety of empanadas as well as meat dishes. Food looks wholesome and clean eating. The place is clean and excellent service from super friendly staff. It was refreshing not to see artificial orange coloring in the food (nothing against Sazon, I use it sometimes at home but a little goes a long way). I will definitely be going...
