Jay’s local offers a few vegetarian and vegan options. You just have to ask. We were out this way to take care of some business. Decided to google local places and came across Jay’s local. This is a very pretty place in a nice area near the Allentown Whitehall area. And sits very close to Muhlenberg College. What a great atmosphere on the inside and outside, the outside they have a great seating area with a huge sidewalk and within that sidewalk, they have cut outs of nice manicured grass where you'll find seating, on the inside not only do they have seating like regular restaurant style down the center, off to the sides they have really nice couches and stand a load seats and this is a very inviting for whatever you may have to do either to enjoy lunch, to have a meeting or to do studying as you’re seeing some of the pictures that I have. Also off to the sides you’ll see a local community board as well as some local art. This place has an excellent vibe to it. I want to thank Chef Anthony for schooling us on the ingredients that were available an our server Gio was very nice very attentive. Our food was great the veggie burger that I had was put together very well. It tasted almost like a burger You can get right out of your backyard barbecue. We also had waffle cut sweet potato fries that were freshly made and a nice spring mix salad with fresh sliced tomatoes, red onions, and a really nice vinaigrette. The croutons were fantastic, they were freshly made. I know they’re just croutons but when you have a have a freshly made crouton it’s something you will remember as I’ve had quite a few bad ones which also it’s something you remember lol , these were great! This would be a nice place to bring family and friends, and they have a wide variety of choices from baked goods to regular food items, I must make mention that this is a very wheelchair accessible location as there are curb cuts leading up to the sidewalk that is huge and on the way into the entrance, the door is very wide and the surface is flat on the way in there is no step to go up and on the inside there is plenty of space to navigate around. I like to fact that the idea of this place is really involved in the community and the surrounding businesses they support local artists and offer cooking classes workshops, just check out there nice website, there’s even a pop-up vegan pizza event every Friday from 5:30-8:00pm and Sunday from 12-6:00 pm, you’ll see the picture that I have attached. this is in partnership with by paranormal pizza.

Not a fan. This place gets an A+ for atmosphere the place has an industrial/contemporary decor it’s really nice. It’s definitely a place you can go hang out and eat a sweet pastry or have some coffee! I went twice I was not impressed the first time, but since everything wasn’t bad I figured I’d give them another try! The bagel with eggs, cheese, and Turkey bacon was good I cannot complain. The pancakes were bad they tasted like they were not cooked all the way they were doughy. The first time we went we had the chicken waffle muffin and that was good but then they got rid of the chicken, that was a mistake! The coffee is from a carafe also not impressed there. I ordered a chai latte tasted more like coffee and less like chai. The staff is friendly and helpful so the service is good! As far as the food I can’t go back! It’s a shame because the ambiance and atmosphere is super chill!

I like the idea. Interesting and fresh menu. Not a big menu, but look around, there are things posted all over. On my visit things seemed to be going about as smooth as sandpaper. Not sure if some college staff placed a big order or if it was training day, but it was a very long wait. My Latte had some very strange flavors going on. Could just be their roast. And the Avocado Toast was tasty, but I suspect it could be way better with a little Lemon Aioli Drizzle, or a little tasty lipid of some sort on the toast. **After returning a few times, I have concluded the first visit was just a bad day. I love the Avocado Toast and the folks working the morning shift are super splendid** A lovely community place with a great outside area!

First time here. Stopped in for a late breakfast and wanted to give it a try. The cafe is nicely decorated with a modern feel. Nice staff and service with some indoor and outdoor seating and street parking. We went with the west end breakfast sandwich on a bagel and also wanted to try their avocado toast that comes with scrambled eggs. We also ordered a knish to see how other items are. Their menu is very limited and considering the limited choices I was expecting mind blowing food. The knish was decent and as expected. I don't think it was homemade but it tasted fine. The west end egg sandwich was just ok. First off the bagel was chewy. I know bagels need to be soft and chewy but this was chewy to a point that you had to pull at the bagel to bite off a piece in your mouth. It was odd and I never had a bagel like that. Maybe it was microwaved which made it chewy? Unsure. The egg and cheese and turkey bacon was ok and overall I guess the sandwich was just ok but definitely nothing special. The avocado toast was disappointing. For the price that you pay I was expecting a lovely smashed avocado spread and maybe some other toppings but instead it was just sliced avocado on plain Texas toast with scrambled eggs plopped on top and some spices added on the eggs to make it southwest I guess. I was expecting a lovely fresh baked bread or French bread with some mashed avocado and onion or tomato with some light greens and scrambled eggs or a choice of egg cooked the way you like it. It was so basic and simple with no effort put into the presentation or the food. There was nothing special or memorable about the food in any way. I don't think it was worth the 7.50 price I paid for avocado on plain Texas toast. Simple can be good but when it is simple it needs to be elevated to a higher level to make it special. I did not try any of their desserts or specialty treats so unsure how they are. I was not thrilled by the food and was expecting so much more from this cafe and I feel the money I spent was Definitely not worth the food we received. Unsure if I will try again. Needs...
