Lori's Mount Union Diner — Restaurant in Alliance

Ok so unfortunatly I have to write a bad review for a great little diner. I have started eating at this restaurant a few months ago. Primarily having breakfast but the occasional lunch. With a few hiccups aside all has been just fine until today. For context I dont usually squawk about minor adjustments. LAst week no buns for my burger, no problem Ill have mine on bread., Out of sausage links? no problem double up on bacon. But today, I ordered the Jims breakfast, This was the no link breakfast. Feeling a bit more hungry I asked for instead on one slice of French Toast Ill take two. When I got the bill? $6.25 for ONE SLICE OF BREAD! outragious!, I asked my waitress about the excessive cost and she just said that was what she was told to charge. Ok so not her fault. I let her know that was way too excessive and that I would not be back again if they were going to gouge me. Well it is what it is, they got their extra $6.25 out of me and it cost them a customer. BTW I did some quick scouting. Walmart sells Whole wheat braed for $1.97 (RETAIL) that is $0.089 per slice. Therefore they market up that slice of bread 6,922% I am no math major, nor a priest, but that seems wrong on so many levels. and that $6.16 "Profit" just cost them a good customer who tipped well, and never questioned their prices. Well off to find my new...

If you're looking for great food, friendly service, and that old timey, small diner feel... brother, this is it. There was absolutely nothing that we didn't live about this place. The owner makes everything from scratch and cooks every meal. The servers were extremely friendly. The food was ample in serving size and absolutely wonderful in flavor. Try the homemade hot sauce! We noticed every table in the place kept asking for it, so we did too. Ended up going home with a bottle of our own! We ordered the chicken, sausage gravy/biscuits with 2 eggs. I like my eggs very fried hard and no one ever does them right. I asked for them "killed, Armageddon style" and she did them perfectly. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine. That being said...That was great attention to detail. She cares about everything that hits someone's table. Btw that chicken, sausage gravy/biscuits? Fantastic.... especially with a little hot...

Two of my friends and I were just there this morning. First time I’ve been there in probably 10 years. I was highly impressed… The food was cooked to order and was delicious, the staff was very friendly and nice, and “ The grumpy old man“ was not grumpy at all but very friendly. Certainly will return !!!!!! …..,,,………,,,,,,…………..,,,,………,,,,,,…,,,,……,,,,,,…,,,,,,,,…….,,,,,,,

There were five of us in there again this morning. And five of us were completely satisfied with our food, and with the service, and the cook !!! I think this little diner is alliances most kept secret. The waitress is awesome, kept the coffee cup full, and the cook is absolutely amazing. He fixes your eggs and your potatoes exactly the way you ask. And you can always sit there and joke with the owner !!!!! You definitely must visit the Mount...
