To say i’m disappointed is an understatement…my fiancé and I go to big boy all the time. We were greeted very nicely by the host, she was very friendly. Our server was nice in the beginning, but once we had problems she quickly changed her demeanor. I had asked politely if I ( a 19 year old ) could order two of the kids mac and cheese dishes. I have done this many times before without an issue and was always allowed to have it. Our server had said she would need to ask but probably not. My fiancé had ordered the philly. She came back with a menu and said that her manager was very upset at her for asking, and that she wanted to know who ordered it because it’s “not aloud” and that I needed to know that. I said that was okay and thank you for asking. She then handed me the menu and waited for me to pick something, I felt very rushed and she asked if i needed a minute and I said yes, then she walked away. I eventually just picked a blt because I seriously didn’t know what else to get, because I always get the mac and cheese. I even offered to pay for it as an adult meal. They have a walkie talkie used to let servers know their food is up, and it is very loud and whoever says “table 30 your food is done” sounds very annoyed and sounds like they hate their job. Our food comes and the philly was absolutely disgusting. I didn’t get a picture, but it had a tiny amount of cheese and it looked awful, looked very dry and almost like dog food. He asked to send it back and our server just stood there. She asked what do you want me to do with it and he said can I just order a slim jim. Normally they ask if you want that as a combo but she just walked away and told the host we needed a menu. Then the slim jim comes out and it looked again awful, i attached an image of it. He ended up eating it because he was just really hungry. We also got the loaded waffle fries and they weren’t very good at all either. But the whole time our server was hugging and talking to all of the elders in the place and all of the elders were getting great treatment. But us, the only two teenagers, we being treated unfairly. My fiancé is in the marine corps and he really was just taken aback. We did not tip at all, I have never not tipped before, normally we just leave change if the server was rude. I wasn’t even done with my food and she brought out our bill and told us to have a good day. I felt very rushed. I am very disappointed and will NOT...
Read moreI went to this location by myself, just after 5pm today. They were not busy, only a few tables occupied. I was seated fairly quickly and Mariah was my waitress. Mariah was friendly and efficient and did her job very well. I would give her a 5 out of 5 stars and if I went back there, I would like her for my waitress. I ordered the Big Boy hamburger, but they were out of onion rings so I settled for fries. Never was a fan of the fries but I went with them anyway. The sandwich was very good...not as much sauce on it as I remember, but very good otherwise. That's the good. As I said, they were not busy and seemed to have plenty of help (but yes, as with most every business, they do have signs up asking for more employees). As I was sitting at my table I noticed the mirror next to me had numerous handprints on it. The table next to me had an open, half used jam packet laying on the floor with a lot of food crumbs and a dessert menu. I could see other table with food scraps and stuff underneath them. Also, while I was waiting for my Big Boy, one of the waitresses was putting a childs chair on top of another and she was wiping the seat and stuff off. I could not help but notice that the bottom of it that stabilized it on the floor was filthy. Could be just scratched up (plastic) or whatever, but it actually looked like no one has actually cleaned the legs/feet of either of those chairs in quite some time. They were filthy, to say the least. So, the sandwich was good, the waitress was good and they were not busy. My thought is that someone (mgt.) needs to pay attention to details such as cleanliness. Would I go back? I guess if I walked in and paid attention to those items I just mentioned and they still weren't clean, I would...
Read moreWe went here for breakfast/lunch yesterday. Wasn’t pleased in the slightest. It took our waitress 40 minutes to get us one drink refill, she pushed us to order fast and pushed us to leave fast by handing us the wrong bill, then didn’t bring us the right bill for another hour. She never brought me my toast, and what food she did bring us, was cold as it was sitting in the pass for at least 20 minutes. My French toast was way undercooked and raw in the middle. Everything was covered in grease. There were only 3 other tables there when we were there, and they only had 2 people at each. Our table wasn’t very clean at all when she sat us at it, I used baby wipes to clean it up before I’d let my baby touch it. We had to ask for her to bring us a few of our food items as we watched them sit in the pass for 20 minutes… Service could have been a hell of a lot better, as well as the food. The floor was really dirty for them being open only a few hours prior. I used baby wipes to clean the high chair she gave us and the wipe came out black, as did the wipes we used on the table. The best thing here was the chicken that came with the chicken & waffles breakfast. The waffle was burnt. The bacon didn’t even taste like bacon at all.. the sausage gravy was just bland. I get that people are understaffed, but come on… There’s absolutely no excuse not to clean your food establishment. 10/10 would not recommend going to this big boy. If you want breakfast food, go to John boys. If you have you’re heart set on big boy then go to Tawas. If you go to this one, you’ll end up sick the next day from undercooked food and/or the disgustingly dirty surfaces. Y’all don’t even...
