Cops & Doughnuts - Alpena at Sanctuary Sweets, LLC — Restaurant in Alpena Township

Simply amazing! Our little town has needed a good doughnut shop for quite some time, and to have one that is a sub station of Cops & Doughnuts, the famous Claire Michigan Bakery, is outstanding! On my first visit, I was greeted with very friendly staff, who were helpful to help me decide what to get. The place is not very large inside, but don't let that fool you, they have a large assortment of doughnuts, eclairs, cookies, breads, and more to choose from. Get their early, because things do sell out thought the day.

The sour cream cake donuts were amazing! The jelly filled ones also will not let you down! And these are not little donuts! They are big and fluffy and so dang good! Oh and the apple fritters! I have never had a better apple fritter ever!

The size was nice, the taste was OK, but I do not know how fresh they were. We had a cream filled eclair and a chocolate covered sprinkle donut. The chocolate on the chocolate-sprinkle donut fell off in large chunks as it was being eaten.
