I frequented this place for 8 years regularly and have introduced to many friends and family. Routinely spent 75-100 per visit and ordered for parties.
Today it ends. I placed a pickup order on the phone and explained my dad would place his own order in person and pick up both. The very pleasant lady confirmed my order and said she understood. Not really complicated order: 1 jalapeño onion and 1 cheese pie. His was 1 jalapeno onion pie, 1/2 cheese , 1/2 pineapple onion.
They made 2 jalapeño onions and 2 1/2 pineapple, 1/2 cheese.
When I got the pizza I realized it was wrong so I called to explain. Joe gets on the phone, is not interested in hearing what I have to say. He says we ordered wrong. I explained I didn’t but then instead of asking how to make it right, or make it up next time, etc, says “ I’m not making any more pizzas” and hangs up the phone.
I was on speaker so multiple people heard my conversation and they were all shocked that the owner of a business would treat a customer this way.
And I bet he is going to respond to this review in a negative fashion. Read the ones below where he has done this when someone disagrees with him.
There are other places to get good pizza and be treated nicely : Carlos on Johnson ferry, Capozzis on Roswell rd, Vespucci’s in Woodstock, Piccolos on Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and more.
Update: I never placed my order with Joe. It was with a lady and I explained my dad would pick up my order and his. She said he was standing in front of her. Repeated my order back to me and all was good.
If Joe decided to ask my 80 year old father if the order was the same, I have no idea why. It’s like asking a delivery person what the person on the phone ordered. If he was confused he could have just called me and confirmed for himself.
It was not a complicated order: 1 large cheese pie 1 large fresh jalapeno and onion pie.
My dad’s order: 1 large fresh jalapeño and onion pie 1/2 pineapple onion and 1/2 cheese large pie.
What we got: 2 pickled jalapeño and onion pies 2 1/2 pineapple and onion and 1/2 cheese pies.
It’s a good thing we aren’t allergic to pineapple. And two pies went to Roswell/marietta and two went to Smyrna. Far from Joe’s to begin with.
Do yourself a favor and don’t patronize someone who doesn’t value his customers. All for $10 ( cost of 4 slices of pizza ). The food is excellent but the attitude of the owner is unforgivable. I guess this is why he no longer has the business to stay open past 8 pm. You can’t disagree with him; he is...
Read moreThe food was terrible. November 6th 2023. I was escorted to my seat by the manager. I asked for an unsweetened tea with no complimentary bread or sauces this included any dairy products: cheese, butter, etc. I ordered a typical vegetarian pizza with little tomato paste. They threw raw vegetables and cheese on my pizza despite I requested no dairy from the beginning. The crust tasted starchy and tasteless. When I asked to speak with the manage to express my dissatisfaction with my first and only bite. He became very defensive accusing me of trying to steal food???... I was embarrassed and humiliated since I bit a very small piece. I knew that it wasn't something I could digest or enjoy. This is why I asked for the manager. I told him I didn't like the pizza. He looked at me and stated, "What you want me to do with the pizza?"...I responded in stating, " I don't care what you do with the pizza, I am not buying something I don't like." The manager told me if you don't pay for it, that's stealing. I hadn't left out the diner. I was still sitting down. Finally, I paid for the pizza to avoid further negativity. The owner came out as I was cashing out. He spoke to me very professionally and wanted to know why I didn't like the pizza. I told the owner that the breading for the pizza was very tasteless and stiff. He asked me where was the pizza now? In the trash near the bar. From nowhere, the store manager began apologizing to me repeatedly???? The owner insisted on giving me my money back. The owner replied that we don't get a request for a vegetarian pizza without cheese often. He added that it tasted better with cheese. I said but the vegetables weren't cooked or baked...I got raw vegetables and melted cheese on raw vegetables??? He apologized for the rude manager, who by the way was apologizing to me as I was walking out the door. I did give server a...

I want to start of by saying we love your pizza and try to pick it up when ever we are driving through the area. We live over an hour away. On Sunday (6/30) we placed a Togo order at 4pm, for 2 lg cheese and 1 Sicilian. Picked up at 4:15. I told the girl how much we love your pizza and always try to get it when passing by and that we still had at least an hour drive left. I paid for the pizzas and took them how she gave them to me and placed them in the car. When we got home, the Sicilian had been on the bottom. The weight of the other two pushed the box top down and pulled off almost all the cheese. We tried to get it off the top, but the box was coming with it. It was so disappointing knowing how much we paid and could not enjoy it, and it was not like we could just run back up. I did leave a message from your website that night. On 7/2 I left a message on FB. On 7/5 I called and spoke to someone who said they would talk to manager and owner and get back to me, but had not heard back from anyone. The regular pies were really good, but again just very disappointed in the Sicilian. I just am really disappointed no one got back to me. I left my number etc. with that...
