When searching for a place, I had two needs I needed filled: 1) My body needed attention in and of itself (this partially was also a mental need), and 2) I wanted that attention to be effective. I came across their 2.5 hour Spa package which included massage, reflexology, foot detox, and body scrub. I had never done body scrub nor foot detox previously, but together they added an hour of my body getting some direct attention. Prior to visiting, I looked up what each was to get an idea of what to expect. I went in on my appointment ready to exit rejuvenated. My results were a mixed bag.
The Good
You will be greeted by someone who exudes courtesy and professionalism and honesty makes you feel welcome and appreciative that you are there. During the individual sessions, you will be asked at appropriate times if youâre feeling ok or if itâs ok to continue. You will also be given water and they will assist in transporting items (shoes, sunglasses, water, etcâŚ) from one area to the next.
Body Wash- Having never done this previously, I wasnât sure how it was going to play out. However, they incorporated it into the massage itself based upon front/back sides. When this portion was in effect, it was a treat. I will warn men with hair on their legs that they will lose quite a few hairs below the knees.
The Bad
Ambience - For a Massage/Spa outfit, they have the worst ambiance Iâve ever come across. For starters, this is the first place of its kind that Iâve been to where the front area wasnât separated from the âworkingâ area. As a result, youâre bombarded with tons of stimuli that will destroy your serenity. The bells on the front door. The traffic just outside. Every conversation that goes on anywhere within the facility. I was relaxing in my area when someone came in the front, stated he needed a massage and as he walked into the back area, although he kept mumbling about how badly he needed a massage, I could still hear him clearly and distinctly. In a vacuum, each service area is setup nicely to entice serenity. Unfortunately, it doesnât pan out that wayâŚ
Then there is the music. Ugh. The music is pumped through speakers throughout the facility, and it was loud by comparison to what I prefer when I get massages and they use in-room gadgets to play serene music. In addition, it was far more upbeat that one would expect. It couldâve overlooked for not a LOUD bird chirping in the music every 3-4 seconds⌠thatâs right⌠LOUD and every 3-4 seconds for 2.5 hours.
Foot Detox- From what I read about this, I had very low expectations. I was however looking forward to at least the part of soaking my feet in warm water for half an hour. I was given a basket of warm water (which was never changed, so it was very cold in 30 minutes). The basket had nodules on the bottom that discomforted my feet when I attempted to place them flat on top of them. I had to bend my feet so as to get them into a narrow groove from the nodules to get somewhat comfortable.
Reflexology- One thing Iâm used to with reflexology is questioning about if any area needs to not be given attention to it or look out for. I forgot that I had an healed big toe that gives discomfort when manually manipulated. My heels also got quite the treatment, but it was focused only on the center where the bone is. The middle section of my feet didnât get hardly any attention at all, nor the same intensity as the top portion.
The Massage- Letâs be honest, this is usually the bulk of any spa treatment and by which full visits are measured and judged by. This is where I was disappointed the most. For starters, there was no inquiry of areas to avoid/go light on or areas of concern. Secondly, only did my back get what I would consider true massage treatment (she used her forearm and elbow to work on some knots effectively). The rest of my âmassageâ should really be classified as an advanced rub down. While that rub down was pleasant and did satisfy goal number one above, it did not satisfy goal number two.
If you go there, just make sure that you have proper...
Read moreIâve tried several massage places in the area, maybe half a dozen or so in the Alpharetta Roswell area since I moved to Georgia a year ago. I personally like deep strong massages. I have a lot of deep chronic muscle tension and knots that require a lot of pressure and repercussion. Every lady Iâve tried here deserves their own review tbh. Each massage has been better than the next one. What I like about these places personally, are that they are equipped with walking bars, which a lot of spa massage locations prohibit out of fear of liability. For me the heavier the masseuse is the better, because I really want full pressure and depth the whole time which they can easily accomplish when theyâre standing on top of you. This is not to say that elbows and knees or really strong hands arenât great and arenât used. They are used but personally I prefer the weight. I also really like the Chinese massage techniques. They seem to really understand the body and how different spots connect. Itâs not acupuncture but itâs acupressure. 100%. Thai massage techniques are also great and theyâre incorporated. They also stretch you. I would only recommend that you inform them ahead of the massage if you have any injuries or extra tight or sensitive spots. That way they are aware and can be careful when stretching you or going deep. Iâd also recommend you remind them if you are being stretched, which typically happens near the end of the massage. They also have warnings about soliciting anything else from them and the place is very clean. Thatâs another big thing I liked about it. upon first impression, you can tell they care about their business. They also use coconut oil without you asking Or having to pay an extra fee for, which I prefer to the other oils. Lastly, a couple of things: I like that I save a little bit on the price of the Massage and I can then give the masseuse more in the way of a tip since theyâre doing the hard work. there are sometimes mothers or even possibly grandmothers working hard to make ends meet. I also Like that I can pretty much walk in almost anytime. Although Out of courtesy and respect for my time and theirs, I always call ahead of time to ask. Still, I have never been turned down. The flexibility of their availability is great for somebody like me who usually only decides heâs getting a massage the day of because he realized he NEEDS one to function đ. Anyhow, this was a long review, but itâs well overdue since I have been going there since last year. Lastly lastly, donât be dismayed that a few of them are older. a couple look like they are in the 50s, but I promise you they donât fall short in terms of energy or...
