I am compelled to share a distressing experience at this well-known establishment, particularly during a Christmas dinner that I had organized for a group of 22 people. The dinner, priced at $150 per person, was expected to meet a minimum spend of $5000. However, the evening was marred by a significant lack of transparency and unprofessional conduct from the staff, particularly concerning the wine service.
Before dinner started , we were presented with a limited choice of only four wines, with no discussion about their prices. Throughout the evening, the waitstaff continually poured wine for the guests to some without consent or inquiry, as if to get rid of the bottles. Many guests reported that they did not request wine, yet it was served to them. Notably, one guest had two glasses of an unrequested wine poured for him.
The most alarming aspect of this service was the utter disregard for transparency. The staff failed to inform us upon reaching the minimum spend and continued to serve one of the most expensive bottles available, priced at $284, as if it were a commonplace selection. This lack of communication and the aggressive pouring of high-priced wine without consent significantly inflated our bill.
At the end of the evening, I was shocked to find that the wine and drinks alone had exceeded $5,000, bringing the total bill, including tip, to over $9,000. Despite my dismay, I settled the bill to avoid a scene but voiced my concerns about the wine selection and the lack of transparency. The waiter said admittedly that he was untrained in discussing prices. This led to a harassing encounter by the manager. After some more back and forth and telling him I felt taken advantage of, I PAID the tab as we were making a scene. This led to another confrontational encounter with the manager, who then followed me outside past the restaurant to the valet area and harassed me more. The discussion, which I hoped would be constructive, escalated to the point where I felt physically threatened by the manager's aggressive demeanor.
This experience highlights a serious issue with the restaurant's approach to customer service and transparency. It is unacceptable for a reputable establishment to exploit its customers' trust, particularly in a setting where patrons are celebrating a special occasion. The management needs to urgently reassess their policies and ensure that their staff is adequately trained to provide clear, honest information, especially regarding pricing. This incident not only reflects poorly on the restaurant's reputation but also serves as a cautionary tale for diners seeking a transparent and respectful...
Read moreOne of the worst meals I have had. The date of my visit was January 17th for my son’s 18th birthday. Unfortunately, due to the occasion and being with friends, I did not take any photos. We really wanted this to be a special meal to celebrate and it was so disappointing. I was here was about a year before and the food was good but the quality has significantly and detrimentally changed. I did attempt to reach a manager before writing this review but did not receive a call back. I will go through our dishes and the issues:
Oysters Rockefeller-the oysters were too small for the amount of topping, and the topping seems like it probably doubled for a spinach dip that should’ve been served with chips.
Wedge salad- no crispness to the lettuce. We ordered two of these and one came drenched in salad dressing. The other one barely had any.
Chilean Salmon dinner- 2 of us ordered this and it was so tasteless that we sent it back, and I mean completely tasteless
3 16 oz ribeye steaks- the seasoning was tasteful but all 3 were so thin they looked like breakfast steaks , I would never even serve these at home. I’ve eaten at high end restaurants for 20+years and there is no way these were 16 oz OR prime beef!
Strip steak-again, very thin and tough. I question the cut and quality of beef.
Pork belly and tuna tartare appetizers, and Caesar salad - the only bright spots
They did bring out a dessert for my son’s birthday, but they knew he was gluten-free and brought out cake!
When I evaluate all of the issues with our food, I think the problem it is in the quality of food they’re serving, and they’re trying to cover it up with the preparation.
For a meal that cost just under $700 (only one alcoholic drink and maybe 1 soda, 1 coffee) we could have done so...
Read moreI had an absolutely fabulous evening at the Oak Steakhouse in Alpharetta, Georgia. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is romantic and welcoming, I also appreciate the upscale and elegant ambiance of the restaurant.
It was my first time visiting, we were a group of four who were all equally impressed. We ordered a variety of dishes, from steak to fish and salads, and every single item exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, with aged steaks and delicious chef-style vegetable sides. The cocktails and wine selection were also top-notch. The only suggestion I have is that the bar could benefit from a smoker for the Old Fashioned cocktails, adding an extra layer of flavor to an already impressive drink menu.
What truly set this experience apart was the incredible service. Mauricio, our server, was outstanding. He was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, without being intrusive as we were in a business meeting, ensuring our glasses were always filled and our needs were met. The manager, Sergio, left a lasting impression on us. He made us feel like regulars, going above and beyond to make our evening memorable. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality were evident at every turn. It is clear that the Oak Steakhouse values its guests and takes pride in delivering exceptional experiences.
In conclusion, my visit to the Oak Steakhouse was nothing short of memorable. The outstanding service from Sergio, Mauricio and the entire staff, combined with the delectable food and inviting ambiance, made for an exceptional evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. I am already looking forward to...
