Such a horrible experience. So many bad reviews in the last few months. Now I know why.

Food came out incorrectly.

Food was served without any utensils so by the time they were given to us the food was cold. (After walking in to request utensils)

The Chicken was raw in the spicy Korean sandwich which the manger saw and tried to apologize for however I had already lost my appetite. It should have never been brought out uncooked in the first place.

The experience with the staff (servers) was very rude. The Latin girl with short curls was extremely rude. I explained that the sides were incorrect and because she didn’t like what I was saying she walked away and said I’ll bring you your server. Don’t address something if you aren’t the correct person.

The to-go box had a bug running around in it. They are called clover mites which live on cardboard, etc. these bugs come as an infestation meaning all that all the To-go boxes have them. I showed my server and he laughed which I didn’t find it to be funny.

After paying and leaving (of course I didn’t even bother taking the food thanks to the bug mites) I decided to call and speak with a manager so I don’t disturb the other guest eating their food. Tracy who is the key manager took my call, and to my surprise she was rude and kept cutting me off. She stated she wasn’t the right person to talk too and could not do anything regarding my complaint. Then why jump in to take the call? She ask why I didn’t address this when I was present, and was dismissive as if it didn’t matter how my experience was.

Tomorrow I will call the health department to notify them about the bugs that they have. I’m not the type to put a bad review but people should be aware of this restaurant. It wasn’t one or two things.

Finally the staff has a lack of leadership, respect, and responsibility. I have Nick’s cell phone number which I could have used but thanks to Tracy I’ll post my review.

I’m so bothered I even paid...

I started out by telling the waiter i have an allergy to garlic and could she please find out which salad dressing doesn't contain garlic. She told me no to just order that i want and the kitchen will make it work. So when they brought my Chinese chicken salad out to tell me they couldn't serve it with the ginger dressing because of the garlic, i asked this person the same question and he suggested the chopped salad. This is literally all i was asking the waiter to do. So, eventually i got the chopped salad with chicken and it was good. Not great, but solid. My husband loved his pizza. In the meantime, we order drinks from our waiter who is also the bartender. After the drinks were brought to the table i quickly realized i received the wrong drink. I ordered the crime of passion. What was bright to me was the passion margarita made with mezcal so i immediately could taste the smokiness. I had to walk my drink up to the bar bc the waiter never returned to the table. I asked her what drink i had and she said the passion drink. I explained how i noticed there are two on the menu and i don't think i got the correct one. Eventually she brings out the new drink which it's the correct one but then she talks to me as if i ordered the incorrect one. She said the crime of passion is made with vodka while the passion margarita is made with a smokey tequila. I said right, mezcal, but that's not what i ordered. Although the new drink was more in line with the flavor profile i was looking for, it was still missing elements. The menu said it came with a rhubarb foam. There was no foam. I can imagine that has a lot to do with the name Crime of Passion. Anyway, shitty service, pretty good food, can't really rate the drinks because i don't think i ever got what i ordered. I did notice the bartender looking through a folder for recipes for each drink. It felt like we got the new person because it was a Tuesday night. Y'all, train this...

I was looking forward to trying the True Food Kitchen but was disappointed with the experience overall. One of the reasons I wanted to try it was to introduce the kids to a different kind of meal from the usual fare. My daughter ordered the Korean steak but was not sure she wanted the forbidden rice so we asked for it on the side and she doesn’t like mushrooms. For my son we ordered a plain burger with no cheese and a gluten free bun. When our food arrived my daughter’s meal came with the rice and mushrooms - rice was not on the side but underneath the steak and sauce and veg. My son’s meal did not have the gluten free bun so both meals had to be sent back and they waited for at least another 20 minutes while we ate our meals. Then when their food came my son’s order was still wrong as it came with cheese and had to go back again. Our meals were ok but my ancient grains bowl was on the salty side and my husband was not satisfied with his poke bowl. The waiter assured us that they would take care of us because to the mistake with the orders and offered us free desserts. My daughter ordered the mango tart but did not enjoy it. My husband and I had the ice-cream with cookies- my husbands came with a hair in it and I pulled something out of my mouth that resembled plastic - no idea what it was. My sons chocolate cake was not good either. We didn’t complain about the dessert mistakes as we were over it by that time. My husband went to pay the bill- they had not charged us for our drinks but had added an additional steak meal on and he had to go and get that taken off. After all that my stomach was not good after the meal. Shame as it should be everything I would enjoy and the atmosphere in the...

We will start with the good. The place is very clean, lots of effort goes into making sure the restaurant is spotless. Staff are well groomed and are dressed professionally; however, True Food Kitchen falls apart GRAVELY with the food and pricing. Appetizers: The tomato soup that my girlfriend ordered was extremely bland and lacked any sort of seasoning, the dumplings that I ordered came in a tiny stingy serving size of four extremely small dumplings. The reward that I got for ordering the dumplings was a unholy disgusting mess. Inside it was bland, and Lacking any flavor or texture. To best describe the consistency and taste, it was a mixture of cold throw up and baby food(Not joking it was that bad). I regretfully choked down one dumpling. Worst of all was the price. Knowing what I know now you couldn’t pay me eat it. Unfortunately, I had to pay 15 $ for the pleasure. Like seriously come on, how can any self respecting restaurant serve that abomination. Entrees: My girlfriend and I ordered two margarita pizzas altogether. They were all right nothing to write home about, but again extremely bland and small, a common theme in this restaurant. True Food Kitchen is overpriced, bland, and offers minuscule food portions. Go here and be prepared to have drastic disappointment! Solutions/Alternatives If you want good genuine 5 star food with generous portions for fair prices then go to Café Intermezzo only a short one minute walk away. Also, Marlow’s a trendy place is just a 2 minute walk away, and offers fresh food from good sources with an inviting environment, staff. Avoid this place at all costs, go anywhere else in Avalon for a better experience. It’s that simple.

This place is truly one of my all-time favorites! Since moving back, I've been counting down the days to stop by, and I finally made it. Of course, I went straight for my tried-and-true favorite, the Spicy Curry Panang. This dish has been my go-to for years, and I was eager to see if it still held up to my memory. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed in that familiar, warm way that makes this place so special. I was seated quickly, and the atmosphere was as inviting as ever—relaxed and cozy, with just the right level of background chatter. I didn’t even need the menu because I knew exactly what I was here for. The service was top-notch, and it wasn’t long before my Spicy Curry Panang arrived, steaming hot. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. The flavors were on point, a perfect balance of spice and richness that kept me savoring each bite. The vegetables were vibrant and fresh, adding a nice texture that complemented the creamy curry sauce. Every spoonful was packed with that signature kick of spice I love, but never overpowering—it’s a heat that builds just enough to keep things interesting. I could genuinely eat this dish every day. It’s hearty, satisfying, and a fantastic way to get in some wholesome veggies without sacrificing flavor. If they ever took this item off the menu, I’d be beyond disappointed. For anyone who enjoys a spicy kick and wants a well-rounded, flavorful meal, the Spicy Curry Panang is an absolute must-try. I’m so glad to be back and to have this place just a short drive away again. This experience reminded me why I love it so much and why it’s always worth the trip. #ashsaidit

First I would like to say that the staff in True Food Kitchen is amazing. There is nothing to criticize. If anything, than maybe just the fact that they could have seen right when the Pizza came out that it was somewhat burned. Yesterday I went to True Food Kitchen with my wife. This has not been the first time and we knew what to expect and that the portions are not the biggest (unfortunately). Therefore, we ordered 2 Lasagna (which we love) and a GF Chicken Pizza. The Lasagna was very tasty as usual but we were quite shocked that the portion seemed to be even smaller than the times before. This is a 16USD meal and it does not fill us up. That is why we ordered the Pizza. However, for a 15 USD Pizza, there were barely any toppings and some of the toppings were burned on top of it. In addition the Pizza is quite small as well. We both left and still had room for more food, which is not very satisfying. We love the place since it is one of the rare healthy places in this area and we like the atmosphere. The concept has potential but the prices are insane for the portions. We will definitely come back and give it another chance. Edit: As stated above we love the place and it has great potential. Therefore, we went back this week again. This time we tried the Arugula Pizza, the beef burger and the Fish Tacos and the food was amazing. The Pizza looked way better this time and the Burger is so far my favorite Burger in the Alpharetta area (that is also healthy).
