I actually visited this restaurant twice and thought I left a review so I feel like I did, and it got erased. If you are a person of color I would not suggest you eating here period . I went on my own and had a pleasant experience, it was the only pleasant experience out of the three that I encountered.when I went with my best friend thinking the food was really good you could visibly tell our portions weren't the same size as the other patrons sitting next to us.Crystal remarked about the pricing and how we had paid a lot of money but the portion seems awfully small. Which she saw her same meal on another plate , she pointed it out much closer it looked to a true portion size. Thinking it was just a misstep I ate here with my husband because the food is actually really tasty. She scolded my husband for how he ate his food and stated it was an insult and almost popped him on the hand for how he put his rice in the bowl . When you are an intelligent person a simple conversation about your customs would have sufficed. Being scolded and popped on the hand for a cultural misstep is inappropriate when I am paying to eat your food . Me and my husband are not oblivious to cultural norms. If there was an issue with us eating our food a certain way, she could have just had a conversation with us. After my two experiences I have not been back to this restaurant but did frequent grouchies next door in which I was treated like a person and not like a kid that needed...
Read moreThai Thai holds a special place in my heart. Back when I worked nearby, my colleagues and I would come here all the time. It’s also where my husband and I had our first date! How amazing is that? Even sweeter, the lovely lady who works there remembered me back then and asked how the date went—such a personal touch from this family-owned gem.
After COVID, I moved to another part of town and hadn’t visited in years. But last week, I reunited with my old colleagues, and we decided to come back here. To my surprise, that same lady still remembered us! She even complimented my friend’s haircut and made sure our food and experience were top-notch.
One of the most thoughtful moments was when my friend got the sticky rice and mango dessert but didn’t eat much because she was too busy chatting. The lady noticed and kindly warmed up the sticky rice again for her. You just don’t get service like that everywhere.
Beyond the amazing service, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. This is a true hidden gem in the neighborhood that deserves more recognition. I can’t...
Read moreBeing a creature of habit, I always order the same things in any Thai restaurant: coconut chicken soup and red curry with chicken. These two items at Thai Thai were among the best I've ever had. The owner (who also took care of us) advised that, rather than two of us each getting one cup of the soup, we order a bowl (which is essentially twice the soup -- four cups -- for the same price. the idea being that we would then have some to take home. (Of course, we just ended up eating it all.) It was also pretty clear that this place has a lot of repeat customers, because the owner was having very specific conversations with many of her guests. This was our first time here, but it will for sure not...
