First, let me say this place is absolutely adorable! I walked by it one day and thought I should bring my child here. Today, my daughter's class was canceled, so I decided to try out that play place. I completed the waiver and paid online, then rushed to make our 12:30 appointment, arriving at 12:24.
When I walked in, one of the staff members smiled as greeting me but then turned back to continue a very personal conversation with a coworker. For over four minutes, no one said anything to me at the counter. Eventually, another staff member looked my way, and I waved and said hello. I mentioned that it was our first time in a play place, and I felt unwelcome due to being ignored.
The blonde young lady was sincere and apologized, but another staff member seemed aggravated by my comments, and her response and tone didn't help . When I expressed my feelings, she said they were still cleaning. I understood, but if I had been informed that they were not open to cleaning, I would have stepped outside. But they were just talking, and instead, I felt ignored, so I asked for a refund to leave. I was told I couldn’t get one but could ask the manager. After trying to call the manager with no response, I returned inside and reiterated that I felt unwelcome and disrespected and that a refund would be best.
The young lady went to the back, and the one who had seemed annoyed said I apologized and that I still wasn’t happy. I explained that her tone and facial expressions felt insincere and sarcastic, and Im not trying to be that customer. Eventually, another staff member said the manager would call me or I could call back, but there was no answer. Meanwhile, my 4-year-old daughter wanted to play as more kids arrived.
In the end, my daughter enjoyed herself, and the play area was clean and beautiful, however due to the overall experience of feeling unwelcomed and the rudeness of the one employee, we won’t be returning.
So update.... after leaving PLAY Street I went next door to shop. I come out and put my daughter in the car and use my phone when I hear a horn. It's said employee I rolled down my window and thought we would have a convo on misunderstanding. Needless to say, not the case. I didn't even get to say a word. She was upset about my post, was rude to me again, and proceeded to take a photo of me in the car. I rolled my window up and ignored her. I can admit that maybe that was in poor taste, I took down the photo of her, I only did it, so management would know who I am referring to, as I could not get a name. However, this experience is one...
Read moreWe found this place via Instagram. My kids love indoor play spaces so I decided to drive over an hour from Gwinnett to try it out. We came on a weekday which was pretty quiet, no other kids were there when we first entered. But here’s my honest feedback
Pros: Gorgeous space, super clean, organized play areas, nice and bright lighting, it’s small, so you can keep an eye out on your kids (if you have multiples and they’re in different areas), they have arts & craft options, the space is small, so in case your kids get bored or want to do something else, they have that option as well. Bathrooms were clean, they have 2 bathrooms with baby changing tables. Free parking, it’s in a shopping plaza area. Your kids can get a snack at the end.
Cons: •You have to reserve a time slot, and you get 1.5 hours of play time only. They make it clear that your session has ended and it’s time for you to leave. They didn’t give an option for an extra hour of play, they made it seem like they were shutting down or an event was about to take place so we had to leave. There were only 2 other kids there during the time the lady explained to us our session was over. We drove over an hour from Gwinnett, and our drive time round trip was actually longer than the 1.5 hours given to play.
•Customer service/young lady at the front desk wasn’t as engaged or smiling as we walked in or during the time we were there.
It’s a beautiful small play space, my kids did enjoy it. But for the drive from Gwinnett it’s not worth it, I’d say if you live in the Alpharetta/Roswell area, it’s a great play space for kids. If you live anywhere OTP it may not be the best option, only because it’s a timed...
Read moreThe place is very bright and clean. Lots of open space and cute little rooms with themed play (doctors office, pet rescue, grocery, restaurant, nursery etc). My daughter’s favorite spot was the big Lego table with all neat types of vehicles, blocks, trains, planes! She had a blast playing just right there! They had another smaller space on the other side with a mini Lego spot, some wooden blocks etc. I came at 12:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. There was only 1 kid there besides mine. So I loved that it’s not a high traffic space. The 1 hour 30 minute time block made me realize that’s all you need! Considering booking my daughter’s bday party here. There’s also not toys with a lot of noise or lights so great for a kid who may have sensory sensitivities! The token for a free snack or juice at the end is a nice touch. & $15 entry is a reasonable fee. Will definitely purchase a 5 day pass...
