The tacos themselves are a highlight, with options like the classic Baja Fish Taco, featuring crispy fish, cabbage, and a zesty sauce, or the Spicy Pork Taco, which packs a flavorful punch. Read moreSo we just moved to the area and have been trying new places to add to our core list of go-tos for date nights and good food on lazy no-cooking nights. But this place was, well, let's just say I could have gotten better food from Taco Bell, but I digress. So we started ordering, and the bartender/cashier was friendly and attentive. We decided to try a few things on this visit as it was our first time; we ordered the queso and salsa combo, a chicken quesadia, a Mahi Mahi taco plate, and a beef burrito. The salsa was the best thing we ordered, and it was like eating baby food, as it's almost like they left it on puree for far too long, by about 45 minutes. The queso was watery and bland, lacking all around. They came in 2 large containers, and the chips were served in a small basket with some sort of seasoning all salt on top of the chips (the seasoning just covered the top 5 chips or so, but was heavy; I'm not sure if it was supposed to be throughout or just the vary top as it had adhered to the chips and was not dispersable, making that layer taste just awful.) Not to mention the chips were on the border of being stale; they were a bit crunchy, but tasted as if they had been under a warmer for days. The chicken quesadilla was again bland, with no flavor or seasoning, and seemed to have a bunch of chicken but very little cheese. The chicken was dry and just mashed into the shell; it wasn't even shredded. The tacos were the second-best item, but the meat was like sun-dried jerky without the salt or flavor. The beans were watery and well overcooked; you know what I mean when beans cook for too long, their outer skin starts to dissolve and fall apart; there's no texture left, just mushy morsels. As for the burrito, the only positive was that it had a ton of ground beef. That being said, it was bland, and the whole burrito tasted of just unsalted or seasoned beef. You know that distinctive flavor overcooked beef has when all the proteins and fluids have been cooked out and there is not an ounce of good flavor left. The drinks were good; it's hard to mess up root beer from a dispenser unless you don't have syrup in the line. So in summary I would say save your money unless your going for...
Read moreIf it wasn’t for the decent food we would have walked out. First we arrive at about 9pm and are greeted with “baby” and “my love”. Completely unprofessional. Frozen drink machines were empty and a frozen drink was one of the reasons we chose that place. Next, we sit at the bar and notice that the few staff members that were there, were packing and cleaning up as if they were about to close. We had checked the closing time prior to arrival which shows 11pm on both FB and Apple Maps. Immediately the lady is on a personal phone call on her cell phone complaining about people sitting at the bar. We ask the same young lady (while still on the phone) if she is able to change one of the (7) TVs to ABC for a basketball game. She does not even put the phone down to say “no, we do not have the remote....” ummm ok....there’s a sign right across from us that brags about their customer service and “undivided attention” that doesn’t exist.
A gentleman who seemed to be a manager walks behind the bar and we ask about closing time and he says it’s 10pm but no rush because they will be there til 11pm. As we are eating and watching the games on the tv, the young lady turns OFF all the TVs while we are WATCHING and still sitting eating our food at the bar. Doors start to get locked by staff and were basically forced out. HORRIBLE customer service. That place has good food and amazing potential but with service and staff like that, they should be SHUT DOWN. Will never come here again and that lady...
