Make it make sense
You made an order through Instacart for COSTCO One of the largest and busiest stores in the area
You ordered 9 gallons of milk 4 gallons of juice and a box of coconut water an obnoxiously large inappropriate order for a small delivery service. This is something you should absolutely be contracting through a food service company. BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN THE WORST OF IT
we're going to do some quick math here
9 gallons of milk, 4 gallons of juice, one box of coconut water $63.63 (let's just say $64 for simplicity of math)
most restaurants shoot for a food cost of 35% or lower so assuming you're in that target range let's say again 33.33% to make the math easier that means your revenue on this order should be in the ballpark of $192 with profit being about $128 of that...
now let's talk about your offerings, for this order we'll talk about your boba drinks a quick glance at your menu will say your average drink cost is probably about 6 bucks for a customer to come in and buy one now let's say because I don't know the exact measurements that these are 20 oz drinks Your Costco order amounted to about 1800 oz of liquid meaning that these should be able to make about 90 to 100 drinks
assuming 100 for simplicity of math again and your average of $6 per drink that's $600 you'll actually ring up for this order you put in
customers are going to come to you, place an order, and all you got to do is mix and package or drink real quick and you expect a 20% tip... which on that $600 equates to about $120 in tips... But let's cut that in half to account for the people that don't tip at all or only tip 15% and average it all the way down to 10% across the board That's still $60 in tips that this order will likely bring in on the low end
But you think an Instacart shopper should drive to Costco, battle to find parking, fight through crowds on a busy Saturday, do all your grocery shopping, box up 14 containers totaling over 100 lb, loaded into their car, BRING IT TO YOU find parking in your parking lot, and then shuttle back and forth three large boxes all for a $2 tip?!?! which by the way totals approximately 3%... what?! in what reality can you with a straight face suggest that we tip your employees 20% knowing that you tip slave wages expecting us to break our back to bring you the very products that keep your business running and then you spit in our face when it comes time to compensate us 🤦
Let's be so for real. Your tip is such an insult that your order would have sat there all day untouched if Instacart didn't trick someone by bundling it with a proper tipper which then reduce the value of their tip significantly by pigging backing you under their order. If you can't afford to give a proper tip you can't afford to use the service just like if I couldn't afford a proper tip I wouldn't come in there and buy a drink from you. get your self together. This is absolutely...
Read moreThe staff they have is quite rude and condescending. Especially the curly haired girl. I had asked for no additional sweeteners on my Milk tea, since I was not familiar with how they process it and my last drink with them was excessively sweet. To this simple and polite request she used her condescending tone and acted as they she couldn't understand my English, several times. Following that I also mentioned about inconsistencies in the drink in the recent purchase wherein the amount of strawberry they had added was quite sparse and if she could ensure that doesn't happen again; to which she snapped rudely saying "It depends on the server and there is nothing she can do about it!!!". I had to reiterate to her to ensure it doesn't happen again. Following the sweetner comment, in a condescending tone she said, "If you don't want sweetener, there won't be any strawberries in it". Is this how the staff is trained to help and answer their customers?? Horrible hospitality and customer service. Will not be back. I hope the owner will take note of this situation and train her with some basic politeness...
Read moreI will not be returning here. Young staff is rude and unfriendly especially to families. This place is not child friendly as the staff was rude to myself and my children while playing with the games and coloring supplies they provide. Drinks are extremely overpriced, and the quality has declined significantly since they opened a year ago. The staff is no longer welcoming or pleasant to do business with. If you have children, DO NOT bring them here. If even one game piece is knocked on the floor they will insinuate you are a bad parent and kick you out of their establishment.
Edit to add - I tried to settle this through email with the owners with no success so now they’ve resorted to acting like the victim. They took zero ownership for the behavior of their staff and apologized FOR MY NOT UNDERSTANDING the request of their staff. Not the inappropriate behavior they displayed but for my lack of understanding. They caused a scene in front of CHILDREN. Reducing my children to tears. After spending HUNDREDS of dollars in their shop and never leaving a mess this...
