Hurricane Grill & Wings-Longwood — Restaurant in Florida

This place (off 434 in LONGWOOD) gets one star because they are NOT KID FRIENDLY. Don’t be fooled by their pretentious environment. I was there with my two kids ages 7 and 5 one night and having a few beers at the bar, after eating some wings with my kids at a table. I got to talking to one of the patrons who was clearly intoxicated (nice guy) and he starts telling me life stories, which causes me to be there a bit longer than expected. I end up convincing him it’s better to uber than to drive home, and he took my advice. He was a regular there, and the staff knew him by first name. They know he gets blasted and drives home … which is shocking to me.

Meanwhile, the restaurant was 30 mins from closing time and I asked for a 3rd beer. Mind you, i weight nearly 200 pounds and workout every day, I was nowhere near intoxicated and I had been there for over 2 hours. One of the workers (an overweight guy , mid to late 40s, clearly hates his life) DENIES me a beer, and basically indicates that he hates kids … didn’t like the fact they were just being kids playing around in the totally empty restaurant. The only customers still eating were sitting OUTSIDE, but for whatever reason the kids were really bothering him and he didn’t want me to enjoy a 3rd beer. I did nothing to deserve being denied… guy is just a hater. For all we know, I could’ve saved someone’s life that night convincing them not to drive home drunk.

If you don’t have kids, and you want bartenders who will serve patrons even if they’re falling over intoxicated, then sure, this place might be a good...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I am 7 months pregnant my husband just ordered from there I got a plain peace of chicken with no lettuce or tomatoe or onions, which was supposed to come with the buttermilk chicken sandwich and CRAIG, the manager tells me the only thing he do for me is me having to go back to the restaurant in order to refund me or give me a credit! I AM NOT EATING THE SANDWICH! Why would a restaurant make a pregnant women go back for a refund then he tells me he can only do it over the phone but then he has to refund the whole thing and charge me again for what I am getting! WHAT KIND OF POS DOES THIS RESTAURANT HAVE! I WORK IN A RESTAURANT AND YOU DO WHATS RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER YOU DO NOT CONTINUALLY ASK TO INCONVENIENCE THE CUSTOMER WHEN THE RESTAURANT MADE A MISTAKE! I AM EMBARRASSED FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE CRAIG THE MANAGER SHOWED TONIGHT. I will never step food in this establishment again or any establishment under this name. I hope the owners and upper manager are happy to run a business lacking in customer service in a tight community like Sabal point during a time when customer service should be of up most importance. I am still in utter shock that Craig expected a pregnant women, because I told him I was pregnant TO DRIVE FOR A REFUND! I went there for my first time me and my family I ordered the Ahi Tuna tacos very Bland and then I tried the chimichurri skirt steak just tasted like chimichurri had no flavor in the steak neither I cook both of these items all the time at home so I expected them to be at least as good if not better but they came nowhere close to the delicious quality of the food that I produce the service was decent with my entree dinner I had order the garlic parmesan broccoli with my meal as one of my sides it was hard and flavorless as well I had to return it to the kitchen me and some of my guests that had ordered the broccoli Hurricane Wings & Grill they're trying got to give them that they just need to pick up their food game get some flavor going I need to come in that kitchen and show them how to throw down I can guarantee you that you'll have a one way ticket to flavortown.. overall the place was clean the decor was nice like I said they just need to pick up on the flavors of the food and how to properly execute cooking them great food is not just in the flavor of the food it's in the proper techniques of cooking the food and preparing it that give you an overall great quality product.
