It was...okay. I ordered the fiery burger. The bacon was too tough and overcooked for me to enjoy. The burger itself was pretty good otherwise. My husband ordered the steakhouse burger, same overcooked bacon, he actually complained about it being burnt and he likes his bacon crispy. His burger was missing the steak sauce that is supposed to be on it so he wasn't impressed with his burger. The food comes with chips, neither one of us cares for potato chips so we both ordered fries...for $2 extra, for subbing regular fries instead of chips? Most places do fries, some places unlimited fries, for free with a $15 burger. There weren't many fries on each plate for $4 extra either. I love good fries, these weren't. They had a weird crunchy outside that was kind of like crunching on sand from uncleaned potatoes, so that was not appetizing. The waitress was friendly and great at bringing refills without us even asking. Service was excellent until she brought us the receipt for the table behind us instead of our bill. Overall the food was disappointing considering all the good reviews I read before eating here and the hefty price tag on everything. My husband doesn't want to go back but I'm willing to give it another try. Though I'll skip the bacon next time and expect them to take at least $4 off the price for it. If half a potato is $2, I don't want to know what 2 slices of extra thick bacon must cost. And I'll...
Read moreWe have gone to cowboy jacks quite a bit but haven't been for a while so we decided to go and have lunch My husband wanted a burger badly and I wanted a great salad well there was one waitress for the whole side and she was doing the best that she could but it took us well over a half an hour to get our food and my husband's $16 burger it's supposed to be one of their high-end burgers came with about seven potato chips and the burger looked like it was on a kids fun He ate it within 10 minutes, I ordered the salad with strawberries, feta and almonds and I asked for extra strawberries and feta cheese I was very disappointed with the salad because literally there was barely any feta cheese on it I will say that there was plenty of strawberries and more cucumbers but there was no flavor the raspberry vinaigrette was like syrup there were no croutons there were no onions it was just not appetizing whatsoever I ate it because I needed to eat the table next to us had about five small children that were running around the table so to top off my meal I had to deal with someone's two to four-year-olds just running around the table screaming and having a good time we both looked at each other and decided that we won't be coming back again and that's sad, it was just a very bad experience the food was mediocre and it wasn't a cheap bill,...
Read moreI wish i could give 4.75 stars. Semms more fair to bump it to 5 thans down to 4 though.
It was an over all lovely experience. Wait-staff was lovely, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was delicious!
I ordered the walleye, sauteed and it was delectable. However, I did expect more than a single fillet for $20. Is that unrealistic now? I know everything is expensive right now, but has it gotten that bad?
Also, and this is partly a fault of 90s nutrition advise and habit more than this particular restaurant. That said, the in season vegetable was a wet, flavorless steamed broccoli. This is why people think they hate veggies! Roasted broccoli with a little salt is incredible, and doesn't require much nore from the chef among so many other delicious, satisfying ways to prepare a vegetable.
I asked for butter, but if course by the time i tried to add some flavor it was cold and wouldn't melt the butter. I couldn't get myself to finish it despite leaving hungry. This is in part, to be fair, due to the fact that i cant eat the starches that come with the meal.
I will go again, but I wont get the fish again despite how much I enjoyed it. I will probably go for the $5 burgers on Tuesday which is a great deal and probably more filling, though I can't imagine it tasting better!
Overall I definitely...
